"Moved out of the area 4 years ago due to a terrible experience with a different apartment so was reluctant to try apartment living again. Looked at 6 different places and Austin by far won me over with his great attitude, openness to answer any question and very transparent way of doing business. Price was in my range and about the same as the other places I looked at and the units/communities weren't as nice. They made paperwork and finalizing everything a breeze really happy I went with Camden restored my faith in apartment complex's. Even maintenance was helpful on my move in day showing me the best way to get my things in complex. Literally can't think of 1 negative thing to say which is rare in customer service these days."
"I'm very excited about moving to this place. Before applying here, I made sure I liked it. I visited approximately 14 properties in the area, and none met all my standards that I already had on my list. It's important to note that I've lived in Midtown for over a year in another property, so I know the area well. The issue of homelessness is common in this area, so if your concern is them, you'll find them anywhere in Midtown. Returning to the topic of this place, I liked that every time I visited, everything was kept tidy and clean, which is important to me. I want to thank Stephanie for her guidance and follow-up, but I was also very well attended to by Austin and Brian; they are very friendly and helpful."
"My husband and I are looking to move, as he got a new job near Midtown. My sister lived in Midtown a couple years ago and we were telling her about Camden because it's closer to his building and she told us to be careful because Camden doesn't have a great reputation. I'm glad we listened to her because we had no idea. There's a bus stop right by the entrance. The complex is old and nasty. There was no parking spot for new people in the front. The vehicles they did have were huge and commercial trucks and vans. We parked on the side and just walked near the are and there was a guy walking his dog coming out of the complex and we asked him what it's like and he said it's fine until you need to park or sleep or if something breaks. He told us to go look at the garage because it was broken . Sure enough, we went and it was and the homeless were all over lurking around. Even with my husband, I was really scared. Also, all the gates were propped so that I'm guessing the homeless can walk in at any time. The guy told us to also come back in the evening on the weekends because it is so loud and disruptive. We did came back in the evening last weekend and it was worse than we thought. Not sure if it's a strip club or bar but right across the street, but it's like a rave party with the most obnoxiously loud menacing music. Even in our cars, our doors were shaking. A young lady was near the area and walking by where we parked and she said it was so scary at night because of the homeless watching her, and that her unit on the top floor gets a lot of laser lights from this club/bar. We asked her about the management and she told us they're nice but that they ignore all the residents complaints and don't do anything, if things break or if there are issues. There's also a Randall's right in front of the complex and homeless set up tents right next to the complex on the sidewalk. Overall, my husband and I didn't even bother going into the place. My husband met his team this week and they gave him a list of local apartments that employees recommend and Camden Midtown was on rated as do not recommend by co-workers that have lived there in the past. Their prices don't seem to be that much better for the terrible quality. Really grateful that we did not go with Camden. It's not safe and it's not livable for your average professionals. We're looking into the Post, which is a couple minutes down the road that seems to value the safety and comfort of their residents. And a couple previous employees said it was great. But we're still going to check."
"My husband and I moved here two years ago, and we have really enjoyed our experience!! S/O to our leasing agent Austin! Anytime we had any questions/concerns he was so quick to figure out a solution! He was always so friendly and ready to help out! If you’re thinking about moving in to this community ask for Austin. Also the maintenance team has been amazing!! Anytime anything needed to be fixed they were super quick to get the work done. If the problem wasn’t fixed immediately they would work on it until the job was completed correctly! We ended up moving states recently, but if we ever found ourselves back in Houston we would definitely sign another lease here at Camden!! Thank you Austin and team!"
"Average apartment. Initially everyone is super nice, which is why they have a high star rating (they ask you to rate them). But once you move in, the vibes change. Pros: Great location and convenient, initially very nice and helpful Cons: Safety (homeless are EVERYWHERE and come inside the complex somehow all the time), very poor security if any (they claim security is patrolling and they don't release the schedule but so far no sign of them), difficulty getting packages (even with a "locker"). Chirp access/key access is via your cell phone and depending on the time of day and service it can be hit and miss. Maintenance/some front staff not helpful at all, features in the apartment are not very user-friendly or practical and Camden has no desire to make slight improvements to make it better. Night time is SO loud starting at 10PM all the way into the early morning, so if you're a light sleeper you're going to be awake for a while. Parking is not designated so that residents have a guaranteed spot, which doesn't make sense. They also require you to take their tech package which is a bundle for internet / cable, so if you don't watch cable and only stream, they rip you off that way too. And the only provider is Xfinity, which was a hassle to setup and had the WORST customer service. A friend who lives in another complex in midtown, who pays virtually the same for similar size apartment, came over yesterday and actually commented on how loud the partying was at night and how scary it felt with all the homeless people lurking around. Another friend was looking to move soon to the area and was able to convince them to avoid Camden Midtown. They're great to start with but it just goes downhill. If you are considering Camden Midtown, make sure to check out the late/evening and night time to see if this is where you really want to live. It's not the worst apartment complex, I've lived in but it's definitely not 5 or even 4 stars. Unless you only care about location, would not recommend. Will not be renewing with Camden Midtown. Update: Blaring incessant music during the day now as well. The management's did call me and said that the homeless everywhere and they're doing the best they can. For the packages, it's Amazon or delivery people's fault. For the noise, they've known about it but that we have to call and file noise complaints. In the past week, I've called the non-emergency police line twice. The management takes zero initiative and responsibility to advocate for the community here. If they are, it is entirely inadequate. The management also said they would address a couple things in the unit itself which also didn't happen. Parking: Their work truck sits in a resident parking spot every day. I absolutely hate this apartment complex."
