Reviews of S & S Auto Repair Shop
"S&S Auto they're wonderful people they help you with your needs great prices and great service they all know what they're doing down there and I thank you all very much. I went in today July 31,23 I have been having problems with my car and I went there and they knew exactly what was wrong with it before they even looked at it by what I was telling anyone they looked at it they were right on the money I highly recommend SMS"
"Literally can’t say anything negative about this place at all. I grew up in Hannibal and recently moved to Columbia, MO, about two hours away. I blew the engine in my 03 Honda and was terrified to take it anywhere in como due to the reputation these shops have for screwing over college students, especially young girls. Rusty found me a motor and had my car fixed and ready to hit the road in just a little over a week and didn’t charge me out the butt. If I could rate 10 stars, I would."
"These guys were a life saver. My son was driving through on his way back to college from 2 states away when he stated having issues with his car. I explained to the person over the phone the the situation and they took the car in at 3pm and had him back on the road by 4:30. I am impressed beyond words."
"I wouldn't recommend this garage to anyone. I took my Chevy Trax to them two separate times to try and figure out why the vehicle was stalling and had a rough idle. They hooked up to their computer, said it was the MAP sensor. $170 later they changed out the part. They charge $20 to diagnose, $35 for labor, and $112 for the part plus tax. Interestingly enough, this part can be purchased anywhere at any reputable auto shop for $30. After doing work on the car, they said it was fixed and running great. After leaving the shop, it's stalled out with the same problems. I took it back to them the next day, and they apologize suggesting that O'Reilly's Auto parts sent them the wrong sensor. They allegedly changed the part out, called me up, and said the vehicle was running great and the check engine light was off. My wife picked up the vehicle to discover the check engine light was still on, and the vehicle had the same issues. It even stalled out when it lost acceleration power in an intersection. I called up these people and am extremely hot. They claimed that it was driving fine and to figure out the problem, bring it back. I told them that if you look at the way the engine was behaving, you can see it's something beyond a sensor. They said they have to look at what the computer tells them. No way. The fact these people lied, repeatedly told me the car was fixed, and put my family in danger is enough for me to never recommend this garage. I did take the vehicle elsewhere to find it was a defective valve cover, found by the level of pressure in the crank case. Took less than a day to get the job done right. Car has ran good ever since. I understand that all mechanics have different levels of expertise on issues, and it wouldn't have been an issue that the car wasn't fixed on the initial attempt. However, this particular garage charges me for work that didn't really get done, lied to me that it was running great, and wanted to charge me more to further investigate the problem they claimed to have fixed."
"My shift linkage broke while driving from Kansas City to Chicago and I broke down in Hannibal, MO. I called these guys and they were great, they fixed me up within two hours and I was able to get back on the road again. Prices are great. I highly recommend this shop, they were very friendly and helpful."
