"After living here for 8 months suddenly parking is reserved and if you don’t pay extra they will tow you. This was not in my lease agreement or explained at the time of move in. An email initially said towing would begin march 1. I received an unremovable sticker on my car today (2/14) that said if I didn’t move my car would be towed. Maintenance has also been very rude about fixing my disposal and warned that if it happened again I would have to replace it. Don’t even get me started on the package room that is a disaster. Very excited to move out in June. After the response I just want to point out that parking was changed 8 months into my lease and I have an almost 2 year old daughter and walking accord the parking garage is dangerous with the way people drive. I frankly can barely afford this apartment so paying more for parking is just not within my limits so I will just have to be careful with daughter."
"Madison was an excellent leasing agent. She was kind and thorough, answering all of our questions without beating around the bush like many do. She answered questions we didn't even have. We won't be moving in for a while, but once we do, I will update this review about living at the actual property. The main thing drawing us to the property is the MASSIVE dog run. Many complexes will say pet friendly, but their dog "park" is often just a patch of grass in the parking lot filled with dog crap the tenants don't pick up and the property doesn't clean. La Maison has a legit huge dog run along two entire sides of the property."
"I’ve lived here for about 8 months. I really like it but the mail system is extremely frustrating. For a whole week during the holidays we weren’t able to have packages delivered to us and had to find other options like Amazon lockers. If you didn’t shop on Amazon, you were out of luck until Jan 2nd. Also, the building is big so going to the package room can be a bit of a walk for some residents, the issue is when you walk all the way down and you can’t pick up your package. The way it is set up is there’s no way to get a package if there is a delivery happening (this problem was solved in other apartments I’ve lived in with things like Luxor one) or if there is someone else getting a package. I’ve literally had to wait in line to pick up my package. They could at lease use an app or give us a way of knowing if a delivery is in progress. I haven’t seen any surveys or opportunities to share feedback to management. I had some maintenance issues when I first moved in but it’s gotten better."
"La Maison at River Oaks looks promising from the outside, but once you move in there are glaring management and design issues that need to be dealt with. There are some good things, but its been mostly bad and frustrating. 1. Design flaws 1a. The showers were made to look cool, but without the door they splash water everywhere. We had to get a tension rod to put in a proper shower curtain. The rain shower head also sucks, you might want to replace this with your own shower head and a hose. 1b. The fans have these wall controllers that use RF to control the light and fan speed. But the dummy who designed this place didn't realize the range of RF waves, meaning your neighbors can accidentally change your fan speeds and turn on your bedroom light at 3 AM. I've had to disconnect the light to prevent this problem. I've been told they plan on replacing the fans, but who knows when that'll happen. 1c. The parking garage gate uses one of the apps to be opened. But you won't have cell service in the garage. So you have to time when you open it perfectly so you can make it before it closes, and sometimes it will close too fast and you'll miss it. Instead of providing clickers to fix this, management wants you to pay another $35 (one time fee) to get a sticker. The stickers ought to be free with the amenities fees we pay each month. 1d. The package room is cool in concept, but the mail carriers (especially FedEx) don't care to actually put your packages in the system. You'll need staff to let you in on occasion to actually get your stuff. You also sometimes have to wait because packages will sometimes get delivered to the front office staff, but wont get put into the room until a day later. So you just end up waiting another day for your stuff. 2. Management didn't have a mail key for us when we moved in. It took over a week for us to be able to get our mail. This wasn't exclusive to us either, we noticed other residents had the same issue. EDIT: Maintenance has been significantly better since we've moved in. We were able to get all our issues resolved and subsequent maintenance requests are handled much much faster. I appreciate that La Maison was able to get this handled. I'm changing my review from 2 to 4 stars."
