Avalon Square Apartments

"Great location and nice, quiet, well-maintained apartment building! Easily accessible to great restaurants and grocery stores like Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Target, etc. Laura, Damien, overall management including maintenance (Luis, and others) went above and beyond to address any issue I had. It is not often you find a leasing property and team that is as responsive and caring, making apartment living a non-headache. I would suggest however you pay extra attention to FedEX deliveries as they can be dropped anywhere and stolen by non-resident package thieves roaming the area if you are not present to receive them. Laura had me send anything valuable to the Leasing Office instead and if I'm unable to pick them up myself, they are delivered by maintenance to my apartment. It's hard to find resident services at this level!"

"I have lived in several different areas and apartments throughout Houston and Avalon Square was not the newest, but it was my favorite as far as experience and location go! Laura, Carla, and the entire maintenance staff are wonderful people. They truly care about you and are timely in responses to issues (though I experienced very few issues living here). I lived in a 1 br and found it to be extremely spacious with plenty of closets. Though the kitchen was small, it had a ton of storage space. I had a couple of issues with the A/C when Houston turned into a sauna overnight, but within hours of me sending a maintenance request it was fixed. If you can find a unit with South facing windows the natural lighting is wonderful! The complex is extremely dog friendly! They knew my pooch by name and always had treats ready for her when we came by the office. There are spaces out front for pets to do their business and there is also a great neighborhood behind the complex to walk your dog. For folks complaining about the washer/dryers smoking out, yes, it can happen. However, Laura and Carla gave explicit instructions when I moved in that overloading washers was not a good idea. There are signs posted everywhere warning against it, so it's more a matter of neighbors being courteous to one another. I've also never lived in an apartment where a fire alarm didn't go off at some point, so if that's your expectation apartment life is probably not for you. The complex offers pest control, and I never had any issues with bugs or other vermin. For the location you won't find a better price, it's walking distance to restaurants, bars, parks, grocery stores, etc. Can't recommend Avalon Square and Laura and Carla highly enough! "I lived here for almost 5 years and loved it. There's PLENTY of parking in front and in the garage. In the Houston heat, it was always nice to have the option to park down below and have my car be cool and protected from the elements. Laura was the best apartment manager I have ever had. She was super personable and kind. Anna in the office was great too. Whenever I went in they always knew exactly who I was and greeted me by name. Maintenance was very fast, and Anna would text me after the completion of a request to make sure everything was handled satisfactorily. Had I not relocated for work, I would still live here. It was a nice community and a great value for the neighborhood."
