Alexan 5151 Apartments

"I’ve been a resident for 4 years, the beginning of my stay was amazing. Nice atmosphere, very well kept and safe. Management was HELPFUL and friendly so everything was pleasurable. Whenever the new management group came everything turned down. They are not aware of ANYTHING. They are not helpful with minor situations. The property began to fall apart. The carpet was no longer being cleaned in the halls, the garage and stairwells were no longer being pressure washed and the trash is terrible. However if I make a mistake they will surely try to charge you $50 for everything. Everytime you walk into the office there is no greeting. If you call with a concern nobody knows anything and the conversation you had they will call back to ask the exact same questions you just answered. One time the office worker Amber came and banged on my door to tell me about my trash can that I was actively taking out! She was extremely disrespectful and proceeded to record me and threaten to call the cops. Good thing my friend was there to catch the whole thing. When I brought it to the attention of leasing management the manager wouldn’t even leave her office to address the situation. The resolution they gave was “they told her to delete the videos”. No apologies, no compensations, nothing. Just violation of privacy and irate behavior about TRASH CAN! I was counting down the days my lease ended because this complex has gone to hell. Every resident that lives there literally gets into the elevator or in passing and has the same complaints! The only thing they are good at is showing units, other than that you might as well figure things out on your own. Terrible terrible management."

"This review comes in a month after staying here. My biggest complaint is me being quoted a different price only than what I got approved for. Ive been ask to email my proof over, which i did at least 3 times and they still ignored it. I requested to speak with management but was refused and basically told thats the price I have to stick with. I would have either chose a diff unit or complex because it ain't worth this price. For $400, $405 to be exact, you would think that the process would run smoothly. Wrong. Its like once they have ya money, they know you’re trapped and not going anywhere soon. I got a 1/2 tour because the girl was texting on her phone the entire time. I had to discover the pool, freight elevator, and garage all by myself, after getting lost. The only positive experience was working with Amber. Her personality is what made me not get upset. She is a blessing to this property. However, everything you have read before is true. They only keep the main areas clean, while the hallway are dirty and stained, stairwells full of dog poo, and elevators dirty (when working). The elevator near my apt JUST started working.. and i got stuck on there the same day. It shakes as if its gonna break down any moment. When I moved in, the elevator was broken so I had to carry my things from 1 end to the other. Its definitely hard giving directions to guess as there is confusing signage in the garage (which is confusing itself) and no signs in the hall ways to tell you to go left/right for a certain unit. There’s so many TVs yet, not 1 remote works to watch them, nor does anyone know. There’s no point of having all of these amenities when they dont work half the time and cant be used. There’s not much luxury about these apartments. Its a facade. Only positive thing for me is that im 5 minutes away from work."

"I have attempted communication multiple times asking for management to clean up disgustingly dirty stairwells that we are forced to use because elevators are always down. There’s dog feces that have been in this stairwell for over a month, growing mold. I have emailed, called, and put in requests on the resident app with zero response. Management only cares to maintain and clean areas where they give tours. Maintenance is the only thing quick and reliable."

"I’ve been living here for quite some time. The quality of The Alexan has gone downhill tremendously. The new management is terrible and the front office staff is like a rotating door. The front office staff has a hard time answering simple questions. The picture attached below is from 5/24/23 around 3am. As a resident this is ALARMING for obvious reasons. I’m concerned about the safety of the community. I went into the front office to inquire what happened and why ALL of these officers were out there. They had no answers. I was expecting to wake up to an email from The Alexan as to the details of this matter because this is a community concern. NOTHING. the lady who I spoke to said they should have details in about 1-2 days. ???? regardless, notice should’ve been sent out about the incident and residents should be provided with details as the Alexan staff is updated. extremely disappointing. I still have no idea what happen, again, this is a SAFETY concern. in addition, there was a man on the ground (the suspect) in handcuffs laying face first into the concrete before the rest of the officers came. (captured on video that I’m not able to upload because you can only upload pictures) as a community, The Alexan should give their residents a full explanation of what precautions we need to take. this is absolutely ridiculous. do better, Alexan."

"Walking distance to the galleria mall and waterfront attraction. Plenty of parking. Gym is a great size for an apartment complex. Their pool is also nice. They have a coffee bar available for guests and residents."
