"The Abbey is a fantastic place to live from it's beautiful landscape to amazing amenities and awesome office staff! The apartments are beautifully appointed with upscale wood floors and granite countertops! Not to mention an enormous soaking tub in the spa like bathroom. The Abbey lives up to its name as Luxury apartments and townhome community. I'm very proud to call it my home. Come see for yourself you won't be disappointed. It truly is as advertised."
"Pros: the view (which you can seldom enjoy for the reasons below), maintenance staff, and friendly neighbors. The maintenance staff was wonderful! Although you have new appliances, I wouldn't consider this place as luxury apartments. The rent should be less to make up for the issues. I've read other reviews on blaming leasing staff, but I'm convinced it's an investment issue (although, I do not disagree with the staff complaints). Older buildings require so much money for upkeep, and I wonder if the corporate office is budgeting enough for this complex. Cons: leasing management. Our A/C was broken the first month and although it was a winter month, it's Houston, so we had days in the 70's. We kept the windows open for air circulation, but there are no smoking rules here so our ENTIRE apartment smelled like cigarette smoke. Throughout our time here, we couldn't enjoy the patio because the cigarette smoke was so bad. We also didn't have a working oven for nearly a month since it was broken upon installation. We communicated that it was a warranty issue which they clearly did not tell maintenance. By the time maintenance came (it was a busy month since so many people had broken heaters), they mentioned that it was a warranty issue and had to follow that process. If the leasing staff informed them correctly, this would have saved us 1-2 weeks. After sending a certified letter, issues we had for a month were expedited. I HIGHLY recommend that you complete a certified letter with move-in issues to save yourself weeks of problems (look up your tenant rights). Worst part was the water quality and lack of urgency or care. The staff here do not seem concerned with the several boil water advisories we had. Specifically the communication. The county would put a sign out, and I had to ask staff to email tenants since relying on signs alone is a poor way to notify people given remote work and other reasons. They did start emailing people which is good. On a Sunday we had contaminated water and the staff said that they're simply not notified after business hours and that we would have to judge the water - contaminated water isn't always discolored - and staff didnt think this was strange nor ever contacted TCEQ. I had to explain that this is a problem and gave them information on how to contact TCEQ, they never responded to me. I looked online and found the FB page in which the county posts boil water advisories including weekend days (any apartment complex staff should be following these pages). Not to mention, our door frame had chunks off from a prior tenant's dog which were painted over, there were several patchy water repairs which is concerning with mold, nearly all the cabinet drawers had stains, and the sound proofing is minimal. You can hear everything from the pool. One time it was so loud (from a stereo) that it was SHAKING our walls. One of the employees simply said it's Friday afternoon and to deal with it. After explaining that walls should not shake from noise and that people work from home including myself, they asked the tenant to turn off their speakers. During the tour when we mentioned the washer and dryer, we were not told that they did come with it and were told something along the lines of we could have one from a model a unit. We found out the day we moved in that the unit doesn't come with them and had to rent them. If you have more than a few issues, leasing staff dreads dealing with you. I get it, it's a stressful job, but given the amount of issues here, it's not "luxury" living, and it is disheartening to be dismissed over important things like clean drinking water. Last but not least, we were charged around $70 for "trash" we left. Since we knew people would be working in the unit, we left hand soap, a towel, toilet paper, and unopened canned soda in the fridge for staff. Lesson learned for us but an expensive lesson for leaving things behind for others' use. The rent should be cheaper here if the corporate office is not going to adequately fund the complex and/or from poor management."
"I've been living in these apartments for a while now, and I must say that overall, I'm quite pleased with my experience. The apartments themselves are well-maintained, spacious, and provide a comfortable living space. The management is responsive to maintenance requests and the community is generally friendly and welcoming. However, there's one significant downside that has impacted my day-to-day life here – the recurring issue with the elevator. Unfortunately, the elevator has been out of order on multiple occasions during my stay, which can be quite inconvenient, especially for those living on higher floors. While I understand that maintenance issues can arise, the frequency of the elevator being out of order has been a point of frustration for both residents and guests. It's worth mentioning that the management does work diligently to address the elevator problems when they arise, but the recurring nature of the issue suggests that there might be underlying maintenance challenges that need to be tackled more comprehensively. If the elevator situation were improved and made more reliable, these apartments would easily earn a higher rating from me. I genuinely enjoy the other aspects of living here and appreciate the efforts put into maintaining the property. I hope that the management can focus on resolving the elevator issue to make this a truly outstanding living space."
"We absolutely loved our stay here at the Abbey on Lake Wyndemere. Obviously living in apartments there’s always going to be little issues here and there, but the staff does an OUTSTANDING job of letting the residents know of all issues and timeframes on resolutions (never did we have an issue in the apartment that wasn’t fixed same or next day). The few times we had to come to Danielle for any issues, she always was happy to help us and made sure things were taken care of in full! The community is like no other apartment complex I’ve ever lived at, you truly feel like you’re home when you live here. The price you pay for what you get, is just not matched anywhere else in this area. If you’re deciding between here and another place to stay, the Abbey is definitely the better choice! My wife, myself and our pup loved every minute of living here. (I don’t leave reviews on companies unless I’m really disappointed or overly joyed with my service. This complex and this staff deserve 5 stars!)"
"This is a follow up review and feedback from when I wrote my first review almost a year ago. I was extremely fortunate to have been referred by a close friend who heard excellent reviews of Abbey Lake Wyndemere. Overall, this has been a great place for me to reside. I couldn't ask for a more well rounded property and staff to follow. Being that I prioritize health and physical fitness, Lake Wyndemere offers several amenities that I take advantage of on almost a daily basis. Property management constructed an official indoor basketball court remodel with sound proof walls and authentic hardwood floors. The basketball gym and set-up is A+. There are several other amenities including a large exercise room, business office, pool with lake view, and guest lounge with pool table and entertainment area. The one thing I like most about this property is that it is highly secured, very quiet and well maintained with a friendly staff who pay attention to your immediate requests. So, if you're looking for a place that is well priced and offers really good value, then I would highly recommend giving Lake Wyndemere a try. I give it 5 stars. I always feel like I'm on vacation when I'm here! Very peaceful and unlike any other property I have resided at in the past."
