"1. Current Ventura loft apartments is suffering from a super poor management. Over the last 3 years , there has been several managers and office staff. No one has done a good job to keep Ventura’s reputation. Poor and incompetent management and office. 2. For weeks they don’t pick up trash and garage smells so bad and trashed are all Over the area. Serious health issues related to this and several residents have been contacted the health department.Embarrassing. 3. Dirty hallways, floors and walls. No one cleans it. Embarrassing. 4. Pets waste in the hallway. Unleashed dogs easily can be seen in the common areas. 5. Pools are poorly managed. No rules in controlling the wild pool parties with all noises for the unites around the pools. Loud music with boomboxes and so many people drinking in the water… 6. Smell of illegal smokes can be easily detected everywhere. Either in the hallways, parking garage or inside the units. 7. For a simple maintenance request, you should wait for months or visit the office several times. Not a good maintenance in timely manner. 8. And eventually very expensive for the quality of service this management is providing. 9. Overall, this place used to be one of the nicest place in the area, but not now. 10. Incompetent manager and office staff. They never answer any messages or emails. 11. Super dirty hallways, stains on the floors , cigarettes butts and animal waste and urine all over the floors in hallways. No one cares about the appearance of property. They just clean the office and pool areas. Hallways’ walls have not been painted for several years and they are so dirty. 12. Dirty shoes and sleepers and big water bottles left outside doors. No one in the management cares about the safety and appearance and quality of the property."
"I am a current resident. I moved to Houston from Dallas. Had high hopes for this city. Until I moved into this place. The pictures look nice, but our unit had many issues that we were not informed of before hand. The fire sprinkler on the ceiling leaks constantly. Our ac leaked constantly. Flooding the apartment on many occasions. Furthermore, there are roaches. I’ve heard there are also car break-ins that have occurred as well. I will be living elsewhere once my lease is up for these reasons. Furthermore, you are required to give 60 days notice when you would like to move out, which they are supposed to notify you of, which of course they didn’t, so we will be required to pay an extra 20 days of rent to live in this place even longer. Do not recommend."
"I agree with ALL of the bad results. If I could score these people a zero I would. I like most of you were very excited to move into these apartments. Within 30 days after I moved in the management team changed and the leasing manager changed again like 4 months later. I could not wait until my lease was up. Paid $1900 a month to look at trash piled up at every dumpster several days a week. My car was vandalized and I called the office and they said that I had to contact HPD for them to have access to their own cameras smh. Then the agent that filled out the report sId he would get everything wrote up and to the property manager and i should hear something back in about 2 days. I waited for a week and reached out several times and NO ONE ever responded to me and even sent by the office and filled out another report with the assistant manager Alba and STILL NO RESPONSE. A few months later, I put in a work order to have my toilet fixed in the master bathroom, for 3 months the maintenance crew kept saying it was complete and that they changed parts which never happened. I put in a total of 3 work orders for the same toilet for over 30 days and still kept showing completed but never took place. Then I had my firearm stolen from my apartment and spoke to Alba (assistant manager) again and called HPD and got a report and emailed their company corporate office. I had described and told Alba of an employee that came into my apartment while I was there with plastic gloves on and did not knock on the door nor have a work order to complete. When asked him why was he in my apartment he got nervous and said coming to check my toilet that was still never fixed. When I reported him to Alba that my fireRm was missing, and described the guy, the property manager called me and said that they guy was a temporary employee and they let him go even though he said he did not steal my firearm. I said how can a temporary employee have master keys to peoples property instead of assisting someone who currently works there. No answer from the manager. I even came out one morning to go to work and my doormat had been stolen. Emailed the office with a picture like below and NO ONE once again responded and said nothing. Furthermore I was not reimbursed for my firearm nor did I hear anything back from no one from the corporate office. So I told them I WOULD NOT be renewing my lease. Now that I am gone even though nothing was wrong with my apartment, my $300 deposit now is being held for foolishness that they stated like normal dirt in the carpet. So I agree RUN and do not waste your tome as you will not be happy at this place for the money that you pay. I normally do not write reviews but this BY FAR has been the WORSE EXPERIENCE that I have ever faced in my life at a place I called home."
"I lived at Ventura Lofts for over 2 years. I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone. For that price you can get a place at a better part of Houston. The location of this apartment is pretty bad for the price. I have had my packages stolen multiple times. My car was broken into twice, costing me $2000 to fix the damages. The management doesnt care. My AC didnt work for almost a year. I would call maintenance people and they would come and do nothing. After a long year with no AC, they managed to fix it. Also, they give you these faux discounts, which makes you think you are getting a good deal. However, they do that so that when you want to terminate your contract early (which you will consider, for sure), apart from 2 months rent, you will have to return the discount amount. The discount they gave me was 1400 a months. Can you imagine? The rent was 1350, and discount was 1400. No way that apartment would cost 2750 in Houston. Anyway, stay away from these crooks."
"Current resident here. Pros: 1. Apartments are generally nice. Wooded floors, vaulted ceilings etc 2. Front office is warm and pleasant Cons: 1. Maintenance is a nightmare. It takes 2 weeks to get any response. Toilet broken? Too bad go to your friend’s place. AC broken? Use a fan. Leaking dish washer? Keep mopping the floors. Btw I’m still waiting on my 1 week+ request as I write this review. 2. Did I mention maintenance?"
