Reviews of Village Inn
"Cute and homey place to get Sunday breakfast. They have a great menu, plenty of different items to choose from. Food came out quick and hot. The waitresses are friendly and attentive. The decor will bring you back in time to your grandma's house and make you feel warm and cozy. Plenty of parking."
"Food was subpar. Eggs were ice cold when they came out from the kitchen. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with eggs NOT what I thought this was going to be. The biscuits and gravy aren’t even that it’s a freaking sausage and biscuit sandwich covered in gravy. The hash browns weren’t cooked crispy like I asked and had ABSOLUTELY to much pepper in them. The waitress was oblivious to what we was asking for when we needed something. I do not recommend this place if you’re visiting from out of town like myself. I will be finding some place better to eat"
"This used to be our go-to spot for good Diner food about 7 years ago, but now the food just isn't worth it. We recently went there and ordered breakfast for an early dinner, and it was barely edible. The food was cold. Food that needs to be hot like scrambled eggs, chicken fried steak, and gravy, country potatoes. My dish had chicken and it was very dry and had the day old leftover taste chicken gets, especially if not stored right, but it was thin cut chicken that wouldn't have taken long to cook so it should have been cooked fresh. To top it off, our request for more butter for their average pancakes from the waiter was ignored. The diner was not busy, maybe 3 tables at one time while we were there. We understand staff shortages, especially when it's busy, but it wasn't not busy and we kept seeing the waiter hanging out talking to other employees while we waited for our drink orders to be taken ( no refills were given cause she wasn't around), while we waited on butter that never came and while we waited on a check so we could leave."
"I think I'll start by saying that when you enter a restaurant you go with the best harmony and expect to be received with kindness and feel like you’re at home. But every time I arrive at this Village Inn.. location, Elmore Ave Davenport the lady who greets clients is so rude, so despotic, and the worst thing is that she only does it with me. I don't know if she is races at me because of my nationality, I don't know. The first day I arrived to buy I thought she was having a bad day but this is repeated every time I arrived and I could say not to return to this restaurant, but I am not the one with the problem when I have tried to be nice. I think she needs to take some customer service classes. Although I honestly don't think so because of her age, she should know that we have to be kind and respectful to the customer. She is the first person to receive the customers. She looks at me badly, or talks to me rude, weighs me down because of two pieces of pie, makes me wait more than 10 minutes, the restaurant is not full and she simply doesn't want to give me the order, she throws it on the counter and doesn't tell me if it's my order. I have to ask her. And she looks at me badly, I don't know what's going on with her. Could someone explain to me why she acts this way. I only ask that she treats me with respect and moderate herself if she doesn't like me."
