Reviews of Alders Cross Creek Apartments 62+ Active Adult
"Alders should be an assisted living facility. I would consider it a wonderful apartment complex for tenants who are 80 and above. It is absolutely not an active development. Several residents with dementia worried me. I believe family members are moving their aging love ones into Alders because it's a lot cheaper then assisted living. A perfect complex if your an alcoholic."
"My husband and I are absolutely thrilled to be living here. We love the facility itself along with the many amenities we have available to us. The activities we are involved in are the ones most meaningful to us, as each resident is free to choose whatever he/she wishes to participate in. Fit Casa is a company which comes in several times each month with everything from Bingo, to live bands, to cooking classes, to small art classes, to luncheons, to tea parties, and it goes on. Alders sponsors a few activities each month as well. These can include snack events (such as Super Bowl), wine tasting parties, Bingo, bringing in students from local high/jr high schools, a magician, and more. The residents have organized pot luck meals on the last Saturday of the month and, yes, for this we have contributed money to buy disposable supplies for the meals. That is our choice. We love having our valet trash which is picked up outside our doors 5 days a week. We love that there are snacks available along with coffee/water bottles/hot chocolate. Occasionally the coffee machine is out of order, but it is being attended to when it is out of order. We also are very fond of our mail area with mail boxes, lockers for packages, and the notification for packages received. Our management team is wonderful and very receptive to suggestions and criticisms. They are always friendly and join with us when we residents are the audience. When we have turned in a maintenance email, our issue has been attended to in a very timely manner each time. Imagine our surprise when we asked about a new filter for our refrigerator and we found out we do not deal with that. Maintenance immediately replaced it. We do not have to change our air filters either. No place will ever be perfect. There will always be things here and there that irk someone or that need a repair. But anyone who has a lot of complaints about Alders probably needs to move on to a place that caters to their every whim. In my opinion, I feel totally spoiled by our staff, our amenities, and most of all our living facility. Our children and grandchildren are very satisfied as well, knowing that we are in a wonderful place where we are healthy, happy, and safe."
"Expect to pay significantly more than base rent. “Looks can be deceiving.” Now open 1 year and social activities are minimal & sedentary, many are bring your own food and drink or organized and paid for by residents. There are no social clubs or support groups, the controlled access doors often malfunction, pool never heated/frequently dirty, mice in common areas. garages extremely narrow, theatre room equipment rarely works, popcorn machine broken, laundry facility “emergency” use only, gas leak to club room cook top since opening, coffee machine frequently out coffee, pet rules not enforced. Units: low grade appliances, cheap cabinets/carpet/flooring, no washer/dryer, can hear residents to side and above. Alders does not provide or offer food, transportation, or any type of safety, health or care related services or assistance. Yet it is attracting residents (many placed here by their children) of advanced age (80+ ) with significant mobility, cognitive, and health issues resulting in 911 calls 3-5 times per month. To the 62+ “active” adult ~ Alders is definitely not for you."
"I just recently moved in. Allison took care of everything for me. She was very professional and courteous. It was a very nice experience and beautiful apartments! Manager was also very nice and accommodating."
"I am very disappointed with the 62+ apartment complex that I moved into six months ago. The advertisement promised an active senior community with a variety of activities to suit different interests and abilities. However, the reality is far from that. The activities are catered to the older residents and not for those of us who were expecting a more vibrant community. Moreover, with the exception of the leasing agent the onsite management is very rude and dismissive of the tenants. Any time I have had to speak with them they treat me as though I am a bother and interrupting them. Never once have they addressed me by my name despite the fact that I have brought it to their attention several times. They act as if they know better than us what we need and want. There has never once been a "town hall" type of meeting where they could listen to us. I feel like I wasted my money and time on this place. I do not recommend it to anyone who is looking for a fulfilling and respectful living environment. Don't be mislead by the beautiful property because THAT is all Alders Creek Crossing has going for it."
