"* Update * Reviewing your responses to my feedback as well as others recently truly reflects that you dont care at all. We had a good experience with our provider, however things seem to have really changed from a back office standpoint as our providers(Multiple) have become part of different organizations such as Christus and BCM. From my calculation, you bill to collections after just 60 days, 75 at the most(date of first Christus bill - collection notice date - 7 day transfer time to Collection vendor). 3 kids, yes, I/we get busy, so an oversight on my part yes, but WOW, 75 days at most. If you check my history with my providers(All Christus) you will see no issues over 3 kids and 15 years. In the past Christus has owed me money as a credit(several times) that you did not pay me for months. I had to call and ask you to disperse the credit MONTHS later. This has confirmed for my family and I that we do not want to be part of an organization so impersonal as Christus/BCM"
"All of our text reminders said 9:20 AM scheduled with Dr. Little. We get there 10 minutes early just to be told oh no, our appointment is actually at 9:40am even though we have the text messages. It’s now 10:30 still haven’t even been called back. When I asked the receptionist do they know how much longer it will be? she called the medical assistant in the back and she said she should be calling us back soon but not sure long the wait will be. That the doctor is running behind there was a lobby full of patient’s waiting for orthopedic Services. Don’t double book patients if you can’t handle the patient load"
"Last Monday evening my 4.5yr old son decided to play with a rusty steel washer (one of his many "treasures") and consequently got it stuck on his finger. Despite our many attempts to remove it at home, we were unsuccessful and headed to the Children's Hospital of San Antonio Emergency Room on Sonterra. My son was extremely anxious having no prior memory of his visits there many years prior as an infant. We were greeted by friendly staff who immediately began to assess him while making him feel at ease. We met an exceptional staff member named John, a respiratory therapist who truly went out of his way to help my son. Unfortunately due to the nature of the metal, none of the tools in the hospital could successfully cut through the metal relieving his finger. It was only upon discharge that I learned from a nurse just how much John went above and beyond. After his evening relief arrived John went to Harbor Freight and bought a Drimmel (with his own money) and returned back to the hospital with it so the physician could use it to remove the washer. I am truly blown away that someone would not only be so caring, but also so generous to a child he had no prior relationship with. John is truly a stellar staff member and deserves all the praise and recognition for also being a truly amazing human. Thank you CHOSA for a great experience despite terrible circumstances!"
"I took my daughter here to the ER on two separate occasions. The nurses were friendly, and we were helped quickly and on our way home. I have no complaints about the facility or care we received while there. The doctor was very helpful, but it’s important to note that he is contracted from Victoria Emergency Partners and is paid separately. Trouble started when we received the bills a few weeks later. Something seems off about the bills and we are confused about some of the charges we are being asked to pay. Since emergency medicine is expensive, I am hoping to have some info clarified and another look taken at how the visits were coded before simply paying the very high bills. I have been trying for 3+ months (yes, MONTHS) to get my questions answered so I can make payment, but to no avail. No one in this hospital system can answer a couple of basic questions about how visits are coded for billing and provide me with any answers. I have been on the phone with several people - the billing office, the ER facility, the patient advocate - multiple times each, and not a single person can explain what exactly I am being billed for. The woman in the billing office, who has ironically proven to be the MOST unhelpful when it comes to billing questions, literally told me “I don’t know. Maybe try Googling it?” Furthermore, I’m receiving conflicting information from the different departments which further shows either that 1) there is a level of incompetence in this hospital when it comes to patient care beyond medical care and/or 2) they are fine with charging patients extremely high bills with little to no concern for what treatment was actually provided. My questions are currently being ignored by the ER director whom I emailed several days ago. If you can avoid this hospital system altogether, go somewhere else if your child needs emergency medical care. The good news is they will care for your child in the moment, but any questions or issues that arise after the fact, any help you need in the aftermath of an ER visit, will definitely be downplayed and ignored."
"This was a great place to take my daughter for a visit to the orthopedic doctor. The staff here were very fast and efficient. The waiting area was very clean and comfortable. My daughter went here for x-rays for her ankle. She was seen by the nurse practicioner who explained every detail of what they would been doing. Then gave us a great plan for rehab and scheduled follow. I will definitely continue to take my kids to this office for treatment"
