Reviews of Victorian Village Apartments
"Rat infested, bad plumbing, broken things, rotten mold, & a soaked, dirty old carpet. Old management was too slow & the new management doesn't even care. They only care about making the outside look nice & the pool. When the maintenence comes they leave a mess. Last time they left a mess & used my kitchen knife to remove a piece of trim, left it that way with the knife on the floor & knocked things off my table. Reported them to the health department. Unlivable, kids & I are getting sick all the time here."
"Warning: If you inquire and submit application and decide to Change your mind before moving in, think again! You have to call before you get the call back saying you're approved. Only then are you allowed to get your deposit back even if you did not sign the lease yet. Shady management! I did a 6 month lease because I didn't want to lose my $300 deposit. I didn't even sign the lease before Eric the property manager told me this. I'm glad I only signed 6 month lease. Eric is rude on the phone and in person. He states his friends called him "Mr.Diva". I've had so many maintenance problems while living here. Problem #1: 1st day I move in- the ac is broken. My electric bill went to $300's. Eric would not reimburse. He said new ac's would be installed in my apartment unit and also the downstairs unit would be replaced. That did not happen. Lies. Problem #2: I got electrocuted from stove. The burners short circuited and I felt bolt of electricity go into my body. Felt it to my head down to my feet. I had a bad migraine that day. 1st maintenance guy stated nothing was wrong. I told Eric and he didn't apologize or tell me he will fix it. He had no empathy. 2nd maintenance guy did find issue with front right burner and resolved issue. I was right and had to keep insisting there was a problem. I got shocked multiple times before anything was done. Problem #3: water heater. I showered over 1 week with cold water. Again, Eric was rude on the phone. He thinks by now I'm a problem tenant. And he states "Like I said, you will get seen in the order that you were placed" Apparently I have to shower with cold water until their one maintenance guy comes around. I marched right into that office and stated if he can check the status of the order now. His reply was "Well you didn't even want to move into the apartments anyway. That's why you signed a 6 month lease" I told him that I'm not going to shower the next 6 months with cold water. How is this relevant? I still moved in?? Well my water heater was fixed the next day. Problem 4: couldn't see numbers and temperature reading on oven knobs. Eric would not replace stove after getting electrocuted and knobs arrived about 2-3 months after I requested. Was baking blindly! Couldn't see bake from broil. Also, oven doesn't work that good. Problem 4: Uneven floors. They put carpet over tiles if you didn't get the upgraded rooms. Stepping barefoot in certain areas were annoying. Problem #5: leak in sink that was never fixed. Even after maintenance came. I didn't report it again because I didn't want to deal with Eric. Do not move in here. Inside apartment is used carpet. They make you hire professional cleaner at the end of your lease or will charge you $85. This isn't even stated in the lease. They are so Shady! Erika told me I had newly installed carpet. Lies lol!! Laundry- someone locks laundry door before 10pm and leaves people's laundry tumbling in the dryer. The washers don't drain and leave water. Clothes are soaked Neighbors- They smoke weed outside and on their balconies. Will blast music loudly. Hang out all outside on grass area. Play dominoes and bring out tables in front of apartment doors. Park in no parking zones trapping other cars. 4th of july- blast fireworks next to cars. One firework stick landed on my car. Dog poop on walkways. Pizza Hut will NOT deliver to these apartments. Sometimes neighbors will get confused and try to open your apartment door thinking it's theirs. I moved out because of Property Manager Eric.I stopped filing maintenance reports because he was rude and I didn't feel like dealing with him anymore. He didn't even do a walk through with me at 3pm on my last day. He was talking with someone in his office and I called in advance the day before. I waited 20 minutes. Erika was nice and professional but she lied about my apartment having new carpet. 12-11-18 my photos showing the dirty condition of the water heater and ac units are not getting approved by management."
"Have been here for 9 months and have no complaints of this complex, anytime I needed maintenance, they were quick to respond. The complex has recently begin getting a make over to make it look more appealing. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for a place to live on the Northeast Side. Thank you Donnie for all your help and professionalism. Edit: After leaving this complex at the end of June, I've had a hard time getting my deposit back, have gotten the run around and still waiting."
"So I lived at this complex for about 3 years and I have to say it was a decent place to live. Never had any bug problems and maintenance was pretty quick about getting things taken care of. They've been doing some upgrades to the buildings so the complex is a lot nicer now. The ONLY complaint I had was neighbors... I was always living under or next door to someone that was super loud or obnoxious and rude, always stomping so I'd advise getting a top floor apt if you can. Other than that this place was a good first apt for me. The rent was cheap and they include your water on the rent so I'd recommend!"
