"I’m 21 turning 22 and I’m looking for an affordable 1 bedroom or studio apartment for myself. I have a 13 year old apple head chihuahua named ginger she is disabled (blind). And I can’t live with my mother forever. So if anyone has word on something in San Antonio please help me out and let me know. I work full time as a room attendant (Housekeeper). I make 11.53 an hour. So please like I said if anyone has anything please let me know! Thank you!"
"I moved in recently under the new management and I love it. I can get a hold of the owner easily, payments are easy, the community in here is kind and friendly. Barbaro across the street is right there if you don’t feel like cooking. I moved to the area so I could cycle to work and have just found myself living in such a unique area of town. It is a historic building so some floor boards might creak, but who doesn’t want character in there home. The courtyard area is always kept clean! It’s really such a cool place to call home. The units are efficiencies so I recommend it for a single person. They also allow free pets and wifi! I don’t know what the previous tenants went through, but my experience is way better then when I lived in a massive complex. Update!*** I am still a resident here at The Monte and have referred one person who loves it as well! We have such great tenants and it’s like it’s own community. Everyone’s very respectful and kind. Not all units are the same, they each have there own unique features and I love that."
"I moved into The Monte 4 months ago, I couldn’t be happier. The complex manager Erin, is always available and quick to respond if she’s isn’t. Danny, the complex maintenance man is FANTASTIC. He’s always kind and efficient. The vibe of the complex is very laid back and quiet. Absolutely great area for morning/evening walks. My dogs and I very happy here!"
"Staying at an air bnb here. So far we have flea bites all over our legs, I have found two roaches, small ‘worms’ on multiple walls and the sink water is a milky color. There is only one working washing machine for the whole building as well. The location and building seemed appealing but save yourself the time and energy and do not stay here. The doors at our unit have openings around the doors outline, which I’m assuming is where the bugs are coming from. Wished this place worked out."
"I would not recommend living here. I had 4 changes of management within one years time, dealt with roaches upon move-in, and did not have access to a functioning mailbox for months. I also resorted to purchasing my own A/C remote because apparently before move in, it was given to another unit and never replaced. Many of the apartments have been converted to air b&bs and there were questionable guests who stayed near my apartment. The location is okay, very close to downtown, but is not worth compromising your safety to stay long term IMO. I requested an early move out due to these security issues, but I was never contacted until it was time for my lease to go up. I received my security deposit quickly after move out, probably because I left my apartment looking cleaner than it was at move in. The only redeeming thing about this place were the kind long-term residents, but they were routinely given the run-around as much as I was. The historical factor of this building goes to waste with such bad management in place and it makes me sad to think that this building might disappear one day in favor of some box condos. Oh well. PS: this was the very first apartment I’ve ever lived in, and I regret it."
