Reviews of Artessa at Quarry Village Apartments
"I begin with the disappointment of needing to dedicate time to compose this review, yet I hold out hope that management will address these issues for the sake of current residents and as a caution to prospective renters. As a seasoned traveler who has lived in a multitude of apartments and managed my own rental property , I approach this review of Artessa at Quarry Village with a fair bit of rental market insight. Regrettably, my over two-year residency has been marked by a series of disappointments. The complex promises luxury but delivers an experience far from it. The incessant noise from early morning activity in the parking lots, nearby retail stores, and frequent late-night fire alarms is a significant disturbance. The apartments, while advertised as upscale, reveal their age and cheap construction upon closer inspection, desperately requiring a remodel. Security is another major concern, with ineffective entry and exit controls contributing to numerous car thefts, one of which I witnessed in broad daylight. Maintenance became a routine part of my week, with one to two requests consistently necessary to address the deteriorating condition of the apartment. Staff communication and organization, particularly regarding parking, were in disarray throughout my stay. The amenities offered, such as the gym and dog park, are inadequate and poorly maintained, not aligning with the luxury living advertised. The pinnacle of my frustrations, however, was the move-out process, characterized by poor communication and inexplicable additional charges totaling over $1600, which remain unsettled a month later. Despite my proactive measures, including a walkthrough, I faced unfounded fees for standard maintenance that should not have been my responsibility. For those considering Artessa at Quarry Village for its luxury appeal, I urge you to look elsewhere. My experience, in hindsight, serves as a lesson in decision-making and a reminder to thoroughly vet potential living spaces. This review is both a personal catharsis and a well-intended warning to prospective residents."
"Please read this before renting at Artessa Greystar apartments! This is the most awful luxury apartment in Texas. They have new management every 1-2 months, so any promises or changes they promise, they will NOT honor. We lived in Artessa for 16-months and it was miserable. They have about 30-40 roaches in the kitchen no matter how clean your apartment is, but promise to come every Tuesday to spray, yet with new management every couple of months that is not honored. The 16-months that we lived at Artessa we had our truck STOLEN. Ask the other residents, it happens about once a month. During our time at Artessa, they never once fixed the gate to drive in. In addition to our truck being STOLEN, they TOWED our new truck out of its designated parking space on more than one occasion. The rent here is near $4,000.00, but you’ll never get the phone answered or a response to your email and after sending numerous emails over 1-2 weeks they will say the manager has been on vacation EVERY TIME and then new management will arrive and have no clue as to what you’re talking about. We moved in to our apartment and it was dirty; the walls were scuffed and black, the hardwood floors scraped and they promised to fix it, but in the 16-months and numerous emails and phone calls with different managers, they never got to it. While we were on vacation for Christmas break, they broke our sprinkler while trying to drain it for the freeze, flooded 2 of our 3-rooms, the living room and the entire apartment below us. They called us and said it was no big deal and a week later when we arrived, the apartment was destroyed along with all of our belongings in those rooms. They had to replace all of our carpeting and refused to replace the hardwood floors even though they had scrapes and now water damage. Upon moving out, we left our apartment squeaky clean, they charged us well over $500 stating they had to deep clean the carpets (which were brand new) and had absolutely NO stains to marks and had to do a deep cleaning of the apartment which we left cleaner than when we moved in. Suffice to say, these apartment lack in communication, professionalism, integrity, and luxury. They are not good to their tenants, responding or listening, just ask them when the gate will be fixed before you move in or your cars WILL be towed AND stolen on numerous occasions. The stairwells have dog poop and trash in them, the pools are small, I would recommend staying in another luxury apartment as you will NOT receive luxury amenities here, but will have to pay a luxury price. Our apartment was $3,800 and we had to deal with all of this in our term at Artessa greystar."
"After being sick for a couple weeks, I discovered mold in the air ducts and notified the apartment staff and their response has been utterly ridiculous! I put in a maintenance request and went down to the office three different times throughout the week to get them to come inspect my apartment and they kept promising that someone would look at it and no one ever came until 5 days later! The maintenance staffer finally came to my apartment Friday evening, saw the mold, and then told me he would have to get a third party to clean it but that couldn’t be done until Monday morning. They told me I couldn’t be in my apartment all day while they treated it with chemicals so I had to pay for my dog to go to day care while I went to work. When I got home from work, only one of the vents was cleaned! The other vents still had mold in them! I know this is the third party company’s fault, but how do you not verify the cleaning and how cheap are they to be hiring a company like that? I cannot believe how unhelpful the apartment staff has been and how awful their communication is. At no point did they apologize or offer me any sort of accommodation for dealing with this. I have been sick for almost a month now and had to use two sick days at work last week. I have lived here over two years now and know how bad the response time from the apartment staff is, but this is unacceptable."
"The dog park is an absolute nuisance. Not the fact there is a dog park but the way it isn’t managed. We are constantly woken up in the early morning and late at night. People seem to feel that having a pet exempts them from the observation of quiet hours. People use the dog park and let their dogs make a ruckus and slam the dog park gate at all hours despite the requirement in the lease to observe quiet hours. The office sent a reminder about this after I pestered them but does nothing at all to enforce the terms of the lease, despite numerous complaints and reports and photos. We are told to call the office and report and then either no one calls back or there is an extended delay in contacting us. Some people have 2-3 dogs per apartment which is ridiculous and contributes to the problem. Others let their dogs sit outside or inside during the day barking incessantly. This is a FAR cry from the quiet we enjoyed when we first moved in. The property and clientele have really declined. The gates to the parking garage have been broken for months and are wide open. The parking garage gate not functioning is a long-standing issue."
"This place is a gem. The company that my husband is currently working for got us this company apartment so that we would nnot be in a hotel all the time. We looked at many places in San Antonio and went with this one. The staff are wonderful especially Andrea Hinojosa and Moses Valenciana they are always willing to help and answer any questions we might have. We also have a great view from our apartment."
