Reviews of Sonterra Blue Apartments
"The apartment is beautiful, but the staff and maintenance are horrible! It’s only been 1 month since me and my wife signed our lease and we’re already having doubts. Upon move in we did a walkthrough with one of the employees up front, and we found some things that needed attention. A light bulb was out, one of the ac vents was broken, the screen mesh in the window was ripped, and the carpet in the bedroom was pulled up and not secured to the base line! Leaving a metal strip exposed and dangerous. We where assured that we would be on top of the list for maintenance to come and fix the things we found, however only half of the items where fixed leaving the carpet and the screen in the window unfixed. Not even one month into our lease the bathtub was clogged and the the dishwasher went out. I completely understand that these are things that management does not control however we’ve asked that they contact us ahead of time so that we can put our dog in a kennel ahead of time before they arrive( she usually roams the apartment while we’re at work ) and maintenance continues to attempt to enter without notice and once they see the dog they leave. I’ve called countless of times to try and coordinate an appropriate time so that we can have the dogs put away but am constantly met with “let me figure out what’s going on and I’ll give you a call back” but never get back to, and seemed forgotten or a even a burden for calling. The lack of communication between management and the tenants are astonishing and disappointing. **update*** More than half way through our lease and ever single day more is just another reason why not to release, after the original review was posted they made attempts to “try and make things right” by coming over and walking through the apartment and try to to repair or address concerns that I’ve made countless attempts to get done since we first moved in! Now granted they did fix our dish washer but sadly only after the review was posted, the metal transition strip is still exposed even though we both came to an agreement that it needed to be fixed and was going to be put in a work order, but that still has yet to happen and the window screen has still yet to be attended to either. And just the other day our water heater had stopped working, they’re response time with us has been better and they had maintenance come out and replace the heating element in the unit, unfortunately while draining the water heater, maintenance had taken out the drain hose for the washer machine to be able to run a drain from the water heater to the washer drain, and unfortunately forgot to put it back together once he was done. We ended up running a load of laundry and with the drain not properly put back, ended up flooding our apartment. We’ve tried to talk to them about terminating our lease and going our separates ways due to the unpleasant experience and living conditions but were told “we’re under new management and everyone we’ve dealt with was from prior management” and that if we wanted out of our lease they demanded we pay the remaining amount of rent, utilities and internet along with keeping the CPS bill active, absurd. Overall horrible experience for a “luxury apartment” and I hope anyone wanting to live here, seriously would reconsider."
"What an amazing experience!! Customer service was the best I've had in all of San Antonio, and what a safe place, I've never felt unsafe once! They let me have my dog here when most places do not let her breed in, even though she's well trained, and I was always so thankful for that. I love the people here, and the maintenance team was always so fast if I ever needed help with anything! Overall I've had a wonderful experience with Sonterra Blue and the staff here, and Jessica has been the biggest help recently as my lease is coming up. I recommend this place as the most pet friendly and safest Apartment complex in San Antonio!"
"Love living at these apartments they’re right around the corner from work and the staff is amazing, Evan helps with whatever we need for maintenance and Jaz is wonderful as far as payments"
"Please don't fall for the first showing act. My wife and I had an incredibly disappointing experience with this apartment complex. To make matters worse, they actively solicit 5-star reviews from prospective tenants during showings, attempting to bolster their average rating, even from individuals who choose not to sign a lease. We resided here for a year and a half before departing in June. Despite significant price hikes initiated by the new management, we generally found the living experience agreeable. Our lease was set to conclude in August, but we gave our notice of intent to vacate in June, as required. Bryan informed us that we should surrender our keys, pool access bracelets, and other items immediately upon vacating, given that we would no longer be residing on the premises. We diligently adhered to his instructions. We even hired a professional cleaner to leave the apartment spotless and ensured that everything was securely locked. However, when I visited the unit a few weeks later, I was shocked to find the door ajar. Inside, I discovered a disheveled scene with clothes strewn about, papers scattered on the floor, discarded food wrappings, needles, and an unpleasant odor. When I returned to the office seeking clarification, a different individual, whom we believe to be Renee, handed me back the keys and stated that we should not have returned them, as the apartment remained our responsibility. This directly contradicted the guidance provided by Bryan, the so-called "manager." They referred me to a non-emergency police line to report a potential break-in. It is likely an employee left the door open at some point and an opportunist squatter took advantage to avoid the heat. (Before and after photos attached) To cut a long story short, the responding officer indicated that it appeared as if a homeless individual had been occupying the apartment for an extended period. While the office ultimately agreed to cover the cost of the cleaning services, we still received an unexpected bill. Our numerous calls to the office yielded little progress, as they repeatedly promised that Bryan would return our calls. However, it took weeks for him to make contact, and his responses typically amounted to "I don't recall saying that" or "I was in a meeting." In the end, Jasmine emerged as a savior, swiftly resolving our predicament within a single day, despite not having been apprised of the full story by her colleagues. It is a pity that we did not have the opportunity to speak with her from the outset, as Bryan was entirely unhelpful in our ordeal."
"I want to express my gratitude to Brian and the staff of Sonterra Blue. I recently relocated from Michigan to San Antonio. I chose Sonterra Blue apartments impart due to the positive online reviews. I connected with Brian and from start to finish my move was wonderful and it was a challenge due to me being in Michigan. Brian responded immediately to my request. What a pleasure to have worked with him. He took photos of my unit and emailed them to me. The application process was effortlessly and professional. Upon my arrival I met Brian and it seemed like meeting an old friend. The staff, facilities were wonderful. I highly recommend Sonterra Blue Apartments I couldn’t be more satisfied."
