Reviews of Tides on Overton
"The worst I've ever encountered. The employees work very badly. The manager spoke badly. Before the move-in date I went to check the room. They said it wasn't finished even though I had to move in tomorrow. They had more than two weeks to prepare the room for me. There is no responsibility. They will give me a more expensive room. Is this my fault? I'm in great distress Had to find a new apartment in one day. No responsibility or refund me money I will inform their headquarters."
"This apartment complex is fairly average. The buildings are old and could use some updates. Maintenance is slow to respond, and the amenities are basic at best. The location is decent, but there's nothing particularly special about living here. It's just an okay place to stay if you're looking for something affordable but not luxurious"
"When we first visited this complex, the staff was super nice and the office had been recently renovated. There is a big gate at the front with a security box so it feels like a safe and nice place. Once we moved in, it was problem after problem. Our move in was delayed because they had not had the cleaning crew in yet. We were moving a fair distance away so I drove an hour to get there and had to come back later because of this. When walking the apartment for the first time, it looked like they just messily slapped some paint on and there was paint all over the floors, major scratches throughout the hardwood, drawers off their slides, and the bottoms of the cabinets saw so much water damage that there was just a ton of foam insulation shot in to try to make it waterproof. We were told the whole place would have hardwood floors except for the stairs but there was carpet in each bedroom. This wouldn't be a problem if the bedrooms didn't have the sinks outside if the bathrooms so water can get all over the carpet. We let all of this go, it was just superficial complaints.. until the truly bad parts started happening. I mentioned earlier that there are gates.. well they don't use them at all so anyone can come in and out as they please. A few months after we moved in, a neighbor came up to us asking if we had a camera at our door and unfortunately we did not. He was asking because someone tried to steal his motorcycle the night before and our apartment faced where he normally parked. A few weeks later, my partners truck gas tank was drilled into and the entire tank had to be replaced. At first, we wanted to believe it didn't happen at home so we tried to say it might have happened at work. He found some shavings in his parking space that had us unsure but we continued on as normal. A few weeks later, I come out to my car broken into and they attempted to steal it. While waiting for the police to arrive, another officer came through the complex and the officer I talked to said they were talking to another person in the complex that had the same thing happen to them. While speaking to the officer, another neighbor came out to see what was happening and he told us that someone tried to break into this apartment when he first moved in. We immediately needed to leave as we no longer felt safe and we had to break our lease. Of course, they cannot be blamed for any damage to personal property and they charged us up a wall to break it but we couldn't do another 6 months in that place. A week after my car incident, the same neighbor that had someone try to steal his motorcycle had his car broken into as well and started taking pictures of his car after he would park at home because he no longer trusted something to not happen. The manager didn't even ask us why we wanted to break the lease when we went to sign the paperwork and when we mentioned what had been going on, she said "yeah that can happen anywhere". Yes.. it could but the frequency in which it was happening there was out of control. I truly hope things get better there but I could not in good conscience let someone else move in without letting them know what to expect."
"I just moved in. Haven’t even been here for a WEEK. And already it’s been the worst experience. I did everything online. I seen a 3d tour of what the apartments I WANTED. When it was time to move in they moved my move in date 3 times. I asked to see the apartment before I sign so I know what I’m getting and they said no. I didn’t get a tour of the complex I had to figure it out myself. Once I found my apartment it wasn’t ANYTHING like the one I seen online (Taylor was just money hungry) I told myself that it’ll be okay I’ll make it a home anyways. Then I opened the freezer and it smells ROTTEN. I’ve done every trick in the book and it won’t go away. The air vents smell like someone shoved fish sticks in there and my heater went out for two nights. Then parking is so unexplained. I would have liked to be toured and shown where everything was so I didn’t get my car towed. I paid for a visitors pass while my parking was pending as a resident, and it got towed bc it wasn’t in one of the three hidden away parking spaces. Shame on them: I’ve been to better apartments in the area (Chisholm Ranch apartments are elite compared to this one) Just don’t move in, they’re too money hungry. And your responses suck. I called the number you’re probably gonna put down here and I’ve been on hold for 10 minutes. I am an active resident. And I can’t wait to get out. I am going to tell everyone about my experience here; so they know not to get scammed by you guys."
"Dont move here. This was My first apartment & the experience was horrible i broke my lease after a few months. My apartment never had a walk through done. There where dishes in the dishwasher from the last resident, the nastiest toilet/tub, door broken off in the closet, holes in the floor. The dishwasher & sink has a leak & was also nasty, millions of roaches, a dirty air vent. Pest control came maybe twice. The neighbors leave trash outside for days. When i informed Priscilla in the office she laughed. I called for maintenance multiple times they only fixed one or 2 things. When i moved in my oven was left unplugged in the middle of the kitchen. There is no reason i should have to take all of these pictures of the things that were disgusting when i moved in. When i emailed Priscilla WITH pictures i got no response. Christina tried to help but that apartment needs a deep clean & replaced items."
