Dakota's Steakhouse

"My husband and I went to Dakota’s to celebrate our anniversary this year. It’s not too hard to find, valet went smoothly (complimentary and the only option) and we enjoyed the prelude of riding the elevator down to the restaurant. We had early reservations and were seated immediately. There was a nice note on our table for our anniversary (though nothing complimentary as in the case of the many birthdays around us- not an issue for us, but just making a note for others) Our server was very good, and I can’t think of a place with better ambience. We were seated in the bar area which was open air to the waterfall. It was a nice evening and we were on the other side of the room from the waterfall, so it was a pleasant temperature and not too loud. There was live piano in the inside dining room which was a nice touch. The food was overall good, though I was a bit surprised that it was not the level I was expecting for the price point, and it may just be my personal tastes, but almost everything was too salty. We had: Salmon tart: 3.5/5, pretty but salty Oysters Rockefeller: 5/5 Scallops: 3/5, the grilled scallops were good, but swimming in sauce and very salty Filet: 4/5, Had the bordelaise sauce which was very good. Ribeye: 4/5, had the truffle butter, and like the filet, the sauce added much of the flavor. Risotto: 2/5, the only thing that was under seasoned. Asparagus: 3/5, very crisp and while grilled, didn’t have a very grilled flavor. Tiramisu cheesecake: 3.5/5, very nice end, though it was served with spoons which felt odd. Not a huge issue but I think forks would’ve made it easier to eat. Drinks were fine, and we had a nice time. The people in front of us at the valet mentioned that their waiter had taken their valet ticket to call their car for them, ours didn’t. Not a huge issue, but if this is something that is done, it should be standard for all guests. I’m deducting one star because nothing was particularly extraordinary, and because the pace felt rushed as our reservation only allowed us an hour and a half. This is a trend I see more and more that I really dislike. If allowed, I’d probably rate a 3.5 rather than a 4, but service and ambiance push it to a 4. Would recommend and would dine here again."

"Everything was wonderful. Complimentary valet. Upon entering, you’re greeted by a doorman( great personality). We sat in the section where you look out at the waterfall. Our server Josh was great, very polite and helpful. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. I had the Short Rib( over a bed of mashed potatoes and root veggies) with an order of mushrooms. Rating: 9 out of 10"

"First time in this establishment and I was NOT disappointed!! Valentines Dinner reservations was for 9pm, we were seated by 9:10pm. They also gave complimented champagne while we waited along w/ a complimentary rose for the occasion. Candle light tables and a piano playing live in the background was the vibes. My steak was cooked exactly how I asked for it and my espresso martini was exceptional. 10/10 service, food, and atmosphere!! Niko showered us with the best experience, hospitality, and service. Highly recommend!! You will not be disappointed."

"Definitely 10/10 - service, food and the vibe. They knew we celebrated our anniversary so they had special table setup for us. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant and the menu. On the weekend they have live piano which is great. The manager came and checked on us that shows how they care about their customers. About the food, I ordered Oyster Rockefeller - this was just ok, my least favorite dish. The crab cake lollipops is good. I loved the tuna carpaccio and beef & bone marrow tartare - 9/10. The artisan green salad is 7/10. For the main entrees I ordered Beef Wellington and Boneless Ribeye. The steak came as medium-rare as we wanted. The sauce is a bit on the salty side. I had the best Beef Wellington in my life 10/10. We had a free Red Velvet cake as for our anniversary. The server was very nice as he checked and got us the vanilla ice cream that was not on the menu but my daughter asked for it."

"My wife and I visited a couple weeks ago foe her birthday and it was nothing short of amazing! The staff was very helpful in assisting us to decide what to order. They were very accommodating. The manager made sure to come out and wish my wife a happy birthday as well. The steaks and appetizers were delicious! The atmosphere was beautiful with all the decor and the waterfall in the back. I highly recommend that anyone try to visit this restaurant"
