""Under the laws of the FHA, landlords cannot legally deny ESA (emotional support animals)" unless they are completely unreasonable. I was denied at the last moment as she refused to listen to me when I made clear to her that when she does her random weekly check ins or whatever she talked about, that I do have a registered ESA cat I've had for 6 years, that I just cannot part with. She had the audacity to tell me to think over it and I might want to consider rehoming my sweet boy, and if I choose to bring him she will evict me. She runs a good place I'm sure however this is actually a legal issue, I've looked into this several times before and thoroughly. It's not like it's a horse or something ridiculous for the housing. I suggest miss Carol, if you're reading this, to do some research, and anyone else who has a ESA who needs a place in this godforsaken town. And let's be honest. A neutered, calm, quiet orange cat that doesn't scratch a thing, and is trained to help emotional situations with his owner, go on walks on a harness, and loves other people is not going to be a cause for actual concern of property damage.
