"Dr. Chen is an amazing doctor. I first came to Dr Chen by referral for pain management from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Temple, Texas. I have two extremely painful knees that need replacement. The VA solution to the pain that I was in was opioid narcotics. I became addicted to them and when I realized that, I quit them. I have had relatives die because of addiction to prescription pain medications. The pain from my knees was excruciating and my doctor suggested acupuncture as a possible aid and arrangements were made for me to see Dr. Chen. I must say I was doubtful. When I first saw Dr. Chen, I was using a walker and barely able to get up from a chair or set down. Constant debilitating pain effects almost all aspects of movement. After a few weeks of treatment I was moving much better. I have been using Dr. Chen for over a year and now I still use my walker or cane if I have to be on my feet for any length of time, but I can navigate around my house and some public places without them. It was difficult for me to ride in a car for more than 2 hours without severe pain, I recently made a 10 hour trip with a minimum of problems. The only drug I am taking now for pain is over the counter Tylenol, at bed time to help me sleep. I still have pain but now it is manageable thanks to Dr. Chen. I also went to Dr. Chen to assist me through a case of the shingles. I believe her assistance was instrumental in reducing the severity of my shingles related pain, and the duration of the attack.
