"Scheduled an appointment here for 2pm. I arrived 20 minutes early checked in with no issues. They took me back into a room to check blood pressure and weight, then was told to go back to lobby to wait for the doctor. During this time another patient came in and stated they were early and wanted to know if they could be seen, that patient was brought back to the rooms and I never saw them come back out while I was waiting in the lobby. At 2:30 I was finally called into a room and staff stated the doctor would see me shortly. At 3:15pm I was still waiting for Dr. Pinkston. During the wait no one came in to explain it may be longer than usual. Finally got up and walked right out. Very unprofessional"

She is one of the few doctors that really takes the time to try to find the cause of the symptoms and integrates functional an holistic with medicine to try to correct issues causing the symptoms. "This is the first time I have seen a doctor since i moved to SA. Let me tell you, I have never experienced this chaos in my whole adult life. All i wanted was a physical, I'm about to be 40 years old. When i called Pinkston Medical to schedule my very first appt. I specifically said it was for my annual physical. Which my insurance covers every year for me 100 percent. This was on April 14, 2023. Went in, I've been to many physicals and this didn't feel like one. It was more like a questionnaire session than anything else. I was not treated for anything, I was not prescribed anything. I left the room feeling odd. When it was time to leave, I didn't know that I had to pay $150 at the time of my visit, I wish they had told me. So I paid it because I'm thinking my insurance will give that money back to me. Shortly after i was sent a lab bill for $206.05. I called my insurance company to ask if I am responsible for this lab bill, they told me no since it was my annual physical. When they had checked their system, they told me that Dr. Pinkston had coded my Physical as a "Wellness Visit" instead. So the lab bill is coded as "Diagnostic" and not "preventative." I was shocked! I called Dr. Pinkston office and all they had to say was: We don't deal with the lab bills, thats a third party, you would have to contact them. So I did. Avanti Laboratories is the name, they had told me that I would have to contact my doctor to change the coding, they can't do anything on their end. I called Pinkston Medical back and told them about this. They said they'll have the Doctor call me. She hasn't called me back. It is August 9, 2023. This back and forth with Pinkston Medical and Avanti Laboratories Has given me so much stress, i already have a high stress job, that I called my insurance company to give up. My insurance company has been trying their hardest to get in contact with Pinkston Medical an Avanti laboratories to resolve this issue for 4 months. My insurance strongly believes this has been coded wrong so they are not giving up on me. I'm at the point where I don't ever want to see another doctor again. I have never experienced this in my whole adult life. This is insane. To top it off, my Insurance company has seen my bill and had said that Pinkston Medical overcharged me at the time of my appointment, Im shocked! This is lot of money down the drain. This is highly stressful. I really hope my insurance company get through to them. Now I am struggling to pay my monthly bills and on top of that, my daughter's birthday is coming up. I definitely learned a lesson going through this mess."

"I scheduled an appointment for my husband and I to do our annual physicals together on the same day. Went in and Dr. Pinkston sat down and talk to us and ask questions, not really doing an exam. She asked if we had any concerns, we had talked about it and wasn’t treated or anything. Just expressing our concerns. Ok cool. We paid about $325.00 no problem. Thinking we’ll get it back because our insurance covers annual physical expenses 100 percent. That was so not the case. Pinkston Medical coded our visit as a "Wellness visit" and not an annual "physical check up." So it’s looking like we’re not getting our money back. Now they want to charge me again just to get my lab results, mind you, I didn’t get a phone call saying it was ready. But my husband got his phone call and his results over the phone. So I’m confused to why he got his and I can’t get mine over the phone. I refuse to go back to this place. My insurance company also told me that Pinkston Medical overcharged us. But billing for Pinkston Medical is telling me that they don’t owe us anything back. So we’re just letting our insurance handle it. Thank goodness because this is such a hassle. We just wanted to do a physical, nothing more. So remember guys, once you're asked if there's any concerns during your physical, they'll code it as a wellness check, not a physical."
