"I was looking at psychology providers with BCBS TX for psychology because I need testing for adhd. I called and asked if they did adhd testing for adults at your facility. First the lady who answered the phone never said the name of the place that I was calling she just said “hello”. I introduced myself and what a I was looking for and the lady interrupted me and said “you’re not calling to someone in Colorado” which I replied I know, that I have a Colorado number but I live in Texas…. Then I was told that because I was not tested as a kid that no doctor can’t test me as an adult or treat me for medication…… This is very but very unprofessional. All I needed to know is if they tested adults for adhd or not at this facility. If this is who you want representing your practice, I feel sorry for y’all."
"( if you are reading this review, look at how the owner responded to this. Feel free to read my second review to if you are worried about this being a false review. Like I say in this post, not sure about the doctors, this is a review to whoever answers the phone when you call the number provided on the website ) Not sure about how good the doctors are, but very disappointed in the front desk. Called asking if there was any adult testing and got asked “as an adult why would you want a diagnosis? I mean how would that benefit you?” I would understand a friend asking this, but someone who works at a place that is specifically known for autism therapy, they should know better. Also was told that my family doctor should know if I’m autistic and I had to explain regular family practitioners do not diagnose autism. I hope this post can help educate autism spectrum within adults. So many go undiagnosed and struggle everyday not understanding why. I hope in the future they keep this in mind, even if they aren’t familiar with high masking autism."
"( ALEY FISH) hello, this is aley fish just on another email. not sure how to respond to the owners response to my first review.( if you are a customer looking for a review feel free to check out my other review, this one is more of a response to what the owner posted as a response to my first one.) I'm not sure if you are who i talked to on the phone, based on your response it appears you are. I'm not sure what you mean by saying i didn't get my way? That sounds like your getting on to a child? i would not recommend speaking to a potential client this way... i was simply looking for guidance and didn't get any with the person who answered the phone. and that is totally ok, if that message was delivered in an appropriate way to me. since we are in dfw there are many other offices i have reached out to who are willing to help me, or at least say they cant in a respectful way. that being said there is no reason for me to be disappointed if you simply didn't have an answer for me. it is concerning to me how you are suggesting i am fibbing to make your business look bad, instead of asking to reach out to me and hearing my story to make sure what happened to me doesn't happen to anyone else. also i would suggest looking into high masking autism ( high masking is a term similar to "high functioning", people in the ASD community prefer this term because "high functioning" terms suggest that a person who has typical or expected intellectual abilities also have good functional skills. when in reality ASD is a spectrum and not every person with ASD struggle with the same exact things and come in many different forms.), that would help many people (especially females, as they receive the highest percentage of late diagnosing) coming into your business looking for help. To my understanding a family practitioner can not diagnose autism unless they are qualified to which most are not, usually family doctors or phycologist will be the one to write you a referral to either a developmental pediatrician, ( which is obviously for children, not adults) a neurologist who specializes in ASD, or a neuropsychologist whom would be best. But of course i am not a professional, if i am incorrect i would have loved if you explained to me the information i was missing. if you have anything else you would like to discuss with me, feel free to let me know, and i will call your office again and maybe you ( or the owner ) would like to discuss my experience."
