"Stopped in Smithville for a midafternoon snack and was recommended that we check out Your Mom’s. Was that ever a great recommendation! It’s a beautiful historic building with exposed brick and vintage furnishings. They serve Dublin sodas and some of the best boudin I’ve ever had! And mom? She loves what she does and it shows! Definitely worth the trip!"

"This place definitely has an atmosphere. However it may be a little too warm for many on hot Texas evenings . The Cajun food was really full of flavor. Give it a try but stick to the Cajun Meals. No table service and no adult beverages. Second visit party of four. Great improvement all of our meals were good. We only had one bad item. The gumbo was burned and the chicken in it was really dry. Tasted like maybe they just kept it warm for a couple days and burned the bottom of the pan."

"Coolest of the cool. Food will not disappoint and service is great. The chicken fried steak is top notch. They use only the best meats from superb suppliers. The best comfort food this side of the Mississippi! The atmosphere is comfy and unique at the same time and you'll genuinely feel like your mom is serving up those spectacular meals. Our favorites also include the fish plate or the fried chicken."

"When I say that this place is AWESOME!!! Those words don't really describe the experience of eating here; when we got there, there was a small line waiting for it to open; clue number 1. I never call myself a food expert, I just tell people that food is my love language!! And this place speaks my language!!! I ordered the shrimp and grits, I'm not a fan of gouda cheese at all, and I ate every last bite of my plate (wanted to lick the plate is more accurate) my wife ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, oh I had the Brussel sprouts and I ordered the Mojo sauce to go with me. They didn't have any more bottled which says how good that stuff is!!! The thing that impressed me more than the service or atmosphere is that I had more shrimp than grits with my dinner; never have I ever eaten at a restaurant and had more shrimp than grits!! I will be visiting this place sooooo much more in the future!! My wife made the comment that she wanted to look for a place to live close to Smithville so we would be closer to this restaurant!! Great job all the way around!!!"

"The wait for the food wasn’t long. Service wasn’t very clear that orders are made at the counter and there would be no waiter taking orders at the table. But they do deliver them to the table. My ordered was slightly incorrect but was immediately corrected. Parts of my meal lacked spice I think (catfish). The portions are big. I wish they had soft drinks. They only offer water or tea."
