Reviews of Trisun Care Center - Northeast El Paso [Senior Care Centers]
"I have been at Trisun Care since November 1 recovering from a severe reaction to prostate cancer which was diagnosed at a local hospital. I was transferred here for medical support and rehabilitation assistance with occupational and physical therapy due to the intense pain caused by the disease. I have received excellent care from the day I arrived. All of the staff members who have worked with me have been courteous, professional, and most of all genuinely concerned and caring about my welfare. Many of them have gone above and beyond the minimum effort required by their job in order to help ease my recovery. All of my questions about my care have been answered clearly and professionally. The meals are well prepared and provide varied healthy choices. In conclusion I believe I wouldn't have been treated better at any other facility in El Paso. I have made great progress with my recovery and rehabilitation and the excellent people who have worked with me are largely responsible. Thank you! Larry Scroggs"
"My mother has been a patient here twice. She is currently there and I am calling from Florida to get information about continuing home services since her insurance has run out and she can't afford to pay $150 per day to stay there for another month. The case manager told my mother she wasn't calling me back because she doesn't have anything to do with it. What? I thought that's what case managers did? Maybe just when patients still have good insurance coverage, not end-of-the-line medicare. Anyway, I have been having a helluva time finding information for elder services in Texas but at least when she goes home tomorrow, she doesn't have to wear diapers because they are too "busy" to take patients who are not incontinent to the toilet! Yes, they put ALL the patients in diapers, whether they need them or not!"
"I have been a patient here at Trisun for close to a month and have receive wonderful care by the nurses and especially all the hard working CNA. I read below some of the negative remarks and could not believe they were talking about the same place. Trisun is a very beautiful and well kept center. It is clean and smells very nice. I look forward to the meals because they are so tasty. By far the best part of Trisun is the Physical Therapy department. They have some of the most dedicated Therapists. I love going to PT and OT gym because the atmosphere is so positive. I can't believe how much progress I have made since entering Trisun. Take it from me who has been in and out of hospitals and rehabilitation facilities this has been the best experience for me."
"I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place at all. Please keep your loved ones away from here. My father was there one night only thank God. He was admitted there on a Friday afternoon, I came from Kansas city and when I got to Trisun and saw the care my father and the other patients were getting I could not believe what I saw. The staff was very rude, didn't help my father when he buzzed for help, after 40 minutes of asking for help I looked for any nurse, couldn't find one, once we found one and asked for help she said she was to busy to help us. I then told my dad I am getting you out of here . I then found another nurse and told him I want my dad to leave now because this place doesn't care and is not helping anyone. He called someone and then told us the dr doesn't approve of our request, she would be in the facility Monday, it is Saturday early noon I said well we are not waiting til Monday when she can come in we are leaving going to a hospital. Rudely a nurse told us fine you can leave but sign this so we will no longer be responsible for your dad. I requested a copy of what my dad signed and it was like pulling teeth to get a copy. Nobody had name tags and when I asked for names they all flat out ignored me. They didn't help call us an ambulance, we literally had to do everything. When ambulance came the staff didn't even help the EMT. Horrible horrible experience at this place. There were patients roaming the halls confused looking for help. We helped them as much as we could. I felt bad for all of them. Stay far away from this place. We are making a formal complaint against this establishment. I hate to have to do this but it needs to be done for the patients there and for anyone who may be coming there to protect them and their family, god forbid anyone has to go through what we did. Again this is not a good place for loved ones so please, please BEWARE of this facility."
"Would NOT recommend to anybody! Unless you are going to be there everyday to make sure the staff takes care of your loved one.. Don't do it! My loved one is bed bound but still tries to get out of bed.. When I went to find the head nurse (night shift) to see if we could do something in between the 2 hour rounds check, I found her speaking with another nurse.. Who even though I was standing 3 feet away, she continued complaining about how she could NOT be left alone on that particular hall because it gets "crazy at night." I jumped in and said that's what I wanted to talk to her about too because my loved one tries to get out of bed every half hour & I was wondering if we could do something to help.. Basically she (the head nurse) stopped me cold and said if I don't feel comfortable.. "take her." I've worked in nursing homes and I've argued with my colleagues when they would mistreat the patients, so her remark set off a lot of red flags and things escalated quickly from there.. Yeah.. that's the kind of staff you're getting there. On a good note, the supervisor the next day, was very friendly and understood the lack of professionalism that happened. She gave me a grievance form and did help to settle things.. By the way, turns out there was something the head nurse could've done to let them know when my loved one was trying to get out of bed.. Not that the head night nurse cared to inform me of.. Still does not take the bad taste of the staff away, but it helped. I still would implore all of you to stay on top of the staff DAILY if you don't want your loved one forgotten."
