Reviews of Louisville Numismatic Exchange
"They sold me a fake Morgan Dollar, and then said they did not believe me and it did not come from their shop. On Friday 1/12 I purchased 20 Morgans and 2 Peace Dollars in person. I called on Monday 1/15 and told them I believed one of the 20 Morgans they sold me was not right. They said bring it in, if it was not right they would replace it. I went in later on 1/15 with all 20 Morgan Dollars and showed them them the 1 coin I believed to be fake. They tested it and it was fake. They then told me they did not believe me, and that I did not buy the coin from them. They held all of my coins away from my reach and discussed the situation internally. After just a few moments they brought all of my coins back along with an additional real Morgan they offered to trade me for the fake. I told them I did not appreciate being told they did not believe me. I told them they were definitely keeping the fake and they could also keep the coin they offered. I immediately left with only 19 Morgans. .... Addendum after shop's response. The statement that they have provided on Google is false. The customer service rep (same person who checked me out on 1/12) did not utter the words "it was an obvious fake" or "would be surprised it would have been put in with the genuine dollars." When he confirmed my suspicion that it was fake I asked him "what are we going to do about it" and he said "It is your coin" to which I responded "I bought it here." From there he said "I don't believe you" and grabbed all the coins I brought in and walked away from the counter to discuss with another person. It was not a good feeling to be in the store at all once they stated they didn't believe me and grabbed my coins. The other individual involved in their internal discussion was the person who helped me shop on 1/12 and did not have any interaction with me at all on 1/15, he did not address me or say any words at any volume I could hear. When the customer service rep came back to the counter to offer me a real one I responded in a standard speaking volume and tone "I do not appreciate you telling me that that you don't believe me," with absolutely no yelling. I rejected their replacement offer due to the way I was treated and the way it made me feel. I stated that they would be keeping both the fake and their replacement offering in a standard speaking volume and tone and turned to leave without further discussion once I had access to my coins again. The customer service rep was attempting to verbally address me further while I made the 2 to 3 steps toward and out the door over 2 to 3 seconds."
"I don't encourage doing business with them. They don't stand behind the products they sell. They refuse to take any responsibility when they are in the wrong and belittle their customers. Take your business to one of the many reputable coin shops in Louisville."
"Awesome experience, nice store, HUGE collection to browse and very friendly staff. I had about 50 coins, mostly silver and was curious what they were worth and came in to have them valued and perhaps sell them. I did research the metal prices and had a pretty good idea what I could realistically get for them, however their offer exceeded my expectations so I sold them all. It was a great exchange which I felt was more than equitable for all parties and I think everyone was happy with it. I would definitely recommend them and will certainly go back myself to buy and sell more in the future. Its a fun hobby and you will have a great partner in it at the Louisville Numismatic Exchange."
"They were very fair with the price they paid me for my silver bullion coins. They were very efficient as well: the transaction took all of 5 minutes or less, and the gentleman who assisted me was cordial and polite. A delightful experience. I would do business with them again."
