"My wife was taken there in mid December by me. She has cancer and was somewhat disoriented and I knew something was wrong. Blood tests were taken and revealed that her calcium levels were very high. For four days, they worked to get the levels down, which they did. We were sent home right before Christmas. On New Years eve, she began having similar issues, I called Centennial and they told me to call the fire department. I called them and she was transported to the ER. They began the same procedure as the last time. They said that their goal was to get her into a physical therapy program. After about a week in the hospital, she was transported to a physical therapy program. Although the doctor at Centennial said that she had cancer in her bones, they sent her to a place where they required her to do physical therapy, even though she had cancer in the bones and that was extremely painful. After about a week in this location, she developed pneumonia. This required a late night trip back to the ER at Centennial. The ER people were treating for her pneumonia and on the second day you could see some progress in her lungs. Well, the same doctor that had been treating her all along comes in and says that she should be moved to a hospice hospital because of her cancer situation. Unfortunately, I agreed and now she is in a hospice hospital on her last breathe. One doctor came in earlier that morning and said that the pneumonia was treatable and she should be better in a few days, because of the other doctor's opinion, we didn't even try for those days. I was told that her cancer had spread to other areas of the body, including a 2 inch mass in the brain. I totally understand that she had a lot going on, but I regret not being stronger and having them treat the pneumonia and then worry about the cancer. At the hospice hospital they treat the pain, and why couldn't that be done at Centennial hospital? The cancer didn't kill her, the treatable pneumonia did and not questioning a "doctor," I let it happen. Kathy lived for 11 days with no medication and no fluids, no breathing treatments, not bad for someone who the doctor at the ER couldn't help."
"Exceptional. We gave birth in Jan '24, maternity ward was professional, efficient, and above all kind & caring. Empathetic, proactive nurses, sweet staff, well run. As a concerned dad looking after mom & new baby, I thank God every day we were able to have our baby at Centennial Hospital. BRAVO"
"Our experience with delivery at this hospital was great because of the hard-working nurses that made the experience smooth! The problem with this hospital is after the care is provided, there was surprise billing for our newborn and the service of the billing/ finance department. Teresa and Sam were especially unhelpful when we went in to speak about the billing. She refused to sit down and have a conversation with us to explain the Billings and was condescending in our conversation. Almost feels like the finance and billing departments are inconvenienced by by having to provide support to their patients. If you don't want to be surprised by the cost of birth I would look for another hospital."
"I went to the ER for an abscess that was beginning to cause pain in my lymph nodes. The facility was clean, nurse and staff were friendly, but I didn’t feel like the actual Dr visit was that thorough. I’m guess I am about to receive a very large bill. With that very large bill I should not be leaving with any lingering questions. I was in and out in just about an hour but the actual doctor visit was maybe 3-4 minutes. He seemed uncomfortable. He gave it a Quick Look, gave me an antibiotic, said he’d call one into the pharmacy and then to follow up with my doctor. The following morning my pharmacy said there was no prescription called in and to call the ER. The ER said there were no notes on a prescription being sent, and that particular doctor and nurse went home for the day. WHAT!? I was appreciative for the nurse on staff to do some “digging” to find out what the prescription was and asked the current doctor on staff to call the prescription in for me, but what if that doctor hadn’t been willing or able to!? My discharge paperwork said nothing about what medication I was given, or what medication was being called in. I was told I could go, but as I was leaving I said I hadn’t met with anyone about my insurance. I’m not sure if it was the nurse or doctor who dropped the ball but both should work together to deliver complete care. Because of the lack of thoroughness during my visit and now a forgotten prescription to be called in, it makes me doubt the care I received. This is usually my go to place when I am worried something is going bad, but I will be rethinking where I go next time. As a manager or owner I would want to know these things. There was a lack of coordination. Usually there is a system of getting checked in. Nurse-billing- doctor accesses and explains what he is doing. The medicine he is giving, why they chose that medication. Then finishes the job by putting ALL of that information as well as at home care of discharge paperwork. I feel uneasy and given the hefty price tag of an ER visit I should not feel that way."
"The care I received was up to standards. Everyone in the medical team was professional. I am giving a low rating for the business and administrative aspects. While in ER, just arrived, while the RN is trying to start an IV, the registrar asked for a payment. It was made quite clear that I have to pay the facility fee right then and there. Would I want to pay by debit or credit card? This was not an elective procedure where to charge the deductible up front was an emergency condition I was seeking evaluation for. Your practices are unprofessional, uncaring, I would try to avoid the facility by all means"
