Reviews of Eureka Recreation Area
"We absolutely love this campground. We have been camping around the lakes area for a while and found this little gem just this year. I'm so glad we did. They have a nice playground for kids that is in the sand. They also have a small beach area. The bathhouse is clean all in all. Every morning, they clean and mop them well. I enjoy fishing, which I am able to do all weekend from the bank right behind our camper. Most sites have a great view of the lake. This campground has two boat ramps. However, only one has a small dock. You are close enough to the local towns if you need anything but far enough away for peace and quiet. The hosts have always been very friendly. The only negative I have it the dump station. It presents a tight turn out of it, especially with longer trailers."
"We just left Eureka campground. Wonderful views, great hosts! Our site didn’t have a sewer bur they have a dump station. We paid $60 for two nights at site 14 right on Lake Barkley. 50 amp, water. Would definitely go back."
"What an amazing campground! Clean and beautiful! Several pull thru sites, beautiful views of Cumberland River, fire rings, picnic tables, a shower house w/laundry facilities, a very nice playground area, several sites are solid surface, a few are gravel. 30/50amp and water hook up, no sewer, but a dump site is available. Our site was a long pull thru, long enough that we didn't have to unhook our tow vehicle. There was only 1 unpleasant thing about the overnight stop and that was the rain, which obviously no one can control, but we didn't get to really enjoy the park. We will be back and enjoy this beautiful State Park!"
"A hidden gem of a campground! My husband and I stayed there for a few days enjoying the fact that it hugs Barkley Lake in Kentucky. There are some spots that are directly on the water, but we choose a spot a bit further back (21) that had more room for us and our two dogs. We still could walk a few feet to see the lake better through the trees. There is a small beach area, boat ramp, dumping station too. We drove around the corner one evening to see an amazing sunset right off the water. Patti’s restaurant, Dollar General’s, and Elk and Bison prairie, are a fun place to travel in the area. The hosts are amazingly helpful and friendly! They will come by a couple of times a day to check on things and see if anything is needed. Some of the spots are a bit difficult to back into due if you have a larger camper, mostly from the angles and trees. People just took their time backing up and was cautious. The spots are blacktop and gravel with a fire pit, very large heavy duty picnic table, along with a smaller table for cooking. Extremely clean area and well taken care of! We plan on coming back in the Spring to enjoy this beauty again!"
"Update July 2021 - blessed to stay here in #4. All sun site, at an angle so the bigger you are the harder it is to back into this site, but best unobstructed lake views. This campground opened April 30th. The campsites are mostly shaded and overlooking the water. Few are all sun. Picnic tables, shelter house, fire pits, water and electric only. Bath house, restrooms, playground, designated swimming area roped off. COE campground. Boat launch, parking lot all paved. Beautiful area."
