"Tingle's Plants and Produce is a longtime fruit, vegetable, and flower stand located in this parking lot in Pewee Valley. The Cottage at Tingle's Plants and Produce was once Clover Cottage, a casual local antiques store, which was unrelated to the Tingles except by proximity. After many years, Clover eventually gave way to Stonehorse (around 2020, if I recall correctly). But when its owner died a few years ago, the property's owner, I am told, reached out to the Tingle family, and now they run the Cottage too. It looks like they restored it to how it looked as Clover (I never made it inside when it was Stonehorse), although they only have the eponymous cottage - not the larger building in back that Clover had annexed. The plant and produce prices are on the high side, though the owners are great. But mostly I'm so glad to see the Cottage up and running - and with the same general layout, feel, and good (low) prices that Clover always had. You can always find something there, and it's one of my favorite local businesses in the area where I grew up. The cottage is a single floor that functions as (but doesn't really look like) an antique mall, with a bunch of different sellers. Plus, the porch is always packed, and there are items along the side of the building. It's a good, casual atmosphere, a popular spot, and no-pressure shopping. And it's clean and not one of those places where you worry about fire safety - although the building is only accessible via a few stairs."
