"Donated a few items. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Facility is clean and well maintained. It's a tough job to care for drop offs, strays and abandoned critters. I applaud their efforts."
"I followed this shelter’s page because it was my hometown although I have moved 30 minutes away since then. I haven’t gotten around to following the new pages in my area, so I would see animals from here a lot instead. When I saw our cat on their page for adoption, she pulled at my heartstrings and I could not let her pass me by. I went and visited her the same day, and everyone there was extremely pleasant with us during the entire visit. Everything we needed for her was already done, shots, spay, microchipping, all things that are so expensive if you decide to just shop for a pet. I’ve had her for a few weeks now, and on the first night she was already a lap cat and continues to be. She is sweet, clean, loves laying in bed and under the blanket, loves her toys/playing and was the best decision we’ve made for our family in a long time. Thank you HCAC ❤️"
"Do not surrender your dog/ cat there, take them to another shelter please! Our dog was taken there without our permission on a Friday and euthanized by Sunday. He was a German shepherd and we’re told he never had a chance because the director doesn’t like that breed. There are so many stories just like ours of dogs getting put down for no reason. Rustie Timberlake needs to get out of there and that place needs shut down or re staffed. Don’t get a job at an animal shelter if you don’t want to take care of them. Commissioners are aware and nothing is happening. Do better Harrison county."
"Worst animal shelter in Harrison county. A lady with gray hair that was working the counter was hands down the worst person. We found a dog tried to take him in but he kept trying to attack the other dog we have. She said it’s our fault that we didn’t get him fixed even though we just found him. She also told us that she will put him down if we want and once they have kennels open she’s going to kill him anyways because of his breed. Never bring in stray dogs or expect them to help because they just kill dogs."
"Well when your dog is stolen from me and when I found out that she was there I drove up there and found out that he was euthized my service dog was and if he was aggressive he was looking and wanting me and this was supposed to be a no-kill shelter they lied they euthanize him right there"
