"The only small complaints I have for this hotel is just the lack of space for even valet parking and the elevators. Waiting curbside for 15mins for an attendant and what felt like another 10 mins for the elevator wasn’t the best but it definitely picked up from there. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed. Check in was a breeze and who can complaint with a complimentary glass of champagne? The staff are true professionals and all look sharp. Our room was on the 10th floor (city view) and we stayed on a Friday night. We did not hear 6th street or anything else in our room. We didn’t even hear people in the hallway. The room was beautiful and had a nice little bar offering. The shower with the eucalyptus plant and steam was a nice relaxing touch. Getting down to the 1st floor took a bit of time because the elevators only seemed to be going up. That was mildly annoying but nothing too bad. We will definitely recommend and stay again if we’re in the area."

"Stayed here for sales meeting. It's stylish and you can't beat the location for going out (so close to 6th street) but did a lot of staying in due to meetings. Meeting rooms had windows, that was great so you don't feel like you're in a cave all day. Heard gym was great, but I didn't go. For my hotel room...Was nice but trying too hard to be cool. The lights are hard to figure out (I had to call the desk) and don't provide enough light. There was no full length mirror in my room!? I've traveled a lot, and never stayed in a room that didn't have one (apparently other rooms did). The robe was a nice touch, but slippers were hidden in a drawer. I'm glad for the slippers because the rug around the bed could use a cleaning. The steamer is a welcome change from an iron, but you have to plan ahead because you can't steam clothes then put on immediately. Fridge was too packed with items for purchase that there is no room to store leftovers. Plugs on one side of the bed didn't work. Just small things that were off, but it's the details that set places apart."

"Very central location, but even on the top floor, it is very loud (though they do provide free ear plugs with a cute card that says “sixth street never sleeps but rest assured you will”). Chic / sexy vibe hotel with spacious rooms and bathrooms. Arguably would prefer more living room space than a massive shower that doesn’t even steam (they hang eucalyptus behind the shower head though). Cleanliness is a 2-3 star rating as there were drink stains and other smudges that I would rather now know as I took some Lysol wipes to surfaces. Customer service is polite and attentive. Unlikely to return."

"Such a lovely hotel! From the moment we pulled up, the staff treated us with such kindness. It really set the tone for the stay. The hotel is beautiful! It was Christmas time so everything was decorated so beautifully. There's lots to do within the hotel as well. The interactive game room, coffee house DJ (this was so cool!), and fitness room (best I've ever seen at a hotel!) were highlights. The Diner Bar was also nice. The rooms were clean and modern. The location is great too! We were able to walk or catch a quick Lyft everywhere we wanted to go. Really enjoyed our stay and hope to return on our next visit to Austin."

"The Thompson is a fantastic hotel! Great location and very beautiful interior to include the lobby and common areas. We stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were blown away by the custom welcome messages and small refreshments at no charge to us. The customer service & front desk was amazing, warm, and very accommodating. The gym was a world class facility that I absolutely loved. It had everything you could ever need for fitness/keeping up your workout routine. The room was immaculate, we loved the modern feel and had many options for snacks and drinks without leaving our room. This hotel is amazing and the experience you’ll have here will be amazing too!"
