Be sure and get a receipt. If you do not, he has your jewelry and you have nothing but what he wants you to have. You do not have the proof of how much gold you brought to the store and exactly the design of the jewelry and the cost. Plus, the bad part is the jewelry was a heirlom I can not replace it."

"Brought in wedding band. Rim of band had line of tiny diamond chips ....you had to look under magnifier to see one was missing. Put in claim to insurance. Estimate was $25 to replace the chip. The owner told me I had 6 loose stones also. How could you tell? Too tiny to know. Told him if he could show that to insurance company and they said ok then fine. Nonetheless, he charged for 1 stone, 4 tips, 2 prongs and tightening of 11 stones. Now I owe insurance people $250.00!! Don't honestly know what work he did or didn't do except chip was replaced."
