Omni Houston Hotel

"Booked this room due to a staycation birthday party for one of my close friends. The check in process was interesting because not only did the representative just give me the key off the wall, she told me nothing about the stay or even the hotel for that matter. I’m guessing she told the lady who came and checked us all in. Still lack of communication. Secondly, the room was extremely outdated, the carpet had my and my roommate allergies in a frenzy and the door had a chain to lock not even the bar to ensure safety. This was of concern. Lastly and the part that was the most infuriating. The total for the room was $621, $200 incidental was charges/pending bringing the current charge to $821 for the weekend and then the $200 would be refunded after I checked out and not issues… Absolutely NOT the case with the Omni Hotel Houston. I was charged/pending $821 on Saturday, Feb 17, and then when I checked out I was charged/pending $621. $1441 were on hold from my bank account from check out Sunday, Feb 18 until Friday, Feb 23. Holiday and all in what world does a hotel hold someone’s funds for 4 days to return them? In what world does the hotel not just charge/pend the $200 and drop it after checkout once room is cleared? This was the worst experience ever with hotel invoice and explanation. When I asked the representative at the front desk why was I charged twice she kept saying you’re not it’s just pending, I then had to ask why are you all holding $1400 when I can understand the $821 which is what I am use to and then the $200 is released… she told me that’s just how their system is and the money would clear by Friday. This process should really be reviewed! Thankfully I wasn’t out in the negative however, it’s a really poor or lack of explanation as to the charges and how the Omni Hotel Houston does them! I have traveled the world and never experienced this. Fortunately I won’t be back nor recommend."

"I made a reservation for both a hotel room and a massage experience at the spa. While the hotel lobby was nice, I found the rooms and pool to be outdated, and the outside bar was not open. The food was okay, i was not impressed and if you needed to order, you had to go inside, there was nobody out side to assist. The staff at the hotel varied; some were friendly while others were rude. However, the highlight of my experience was the spa. Nataly, my massage therapist, was absolutely amazing and caring. She made me feel extremely comfortable throughout the massage. I want to express my gratitude to Nataly for her sweet demeanor, extensive knowledge, and warm welcome."

"We stay here when in town for various reasons. Excellent service from the staff at all levels so nice job on management there. Important: Very well maintained property . Newer interior in common lobby areas and although showing a bit tired the rooms are large, and most important to us clean, quiet and comfortable. Has a feel of a nicer apartment building. The location can not be beat, in Houston. A variety of restaurants are all within 5-10 m driving. There’s always Uber Eats too for staying in. Medical center is 15-17 minutes, memorial park 3 mins car, or walk to it. Summary: The Basics are well done. Professional establishment."

"Had a really good experience over Christmas at this location. The staff was very friendly and always welcoming. The rooms are a good size (we had the double). The restaurant and bar in the lobby was very tasty (albeit a bit expensive). The fitness center is was fantastic, and probably the best part of my trip (multiple machines and free weights made it easy to keep up my routine) Would definitely come back and recommend to others."
