Courtyard by Marriott Houston Brookhollow

"Usually I research hotels well before. It was midnight and we were leaving the Rodeo, tired so I was just trying to find something within 20 min. The first red flag was the area and the parking lot, then you see the aging “hotel” right behind an old sketchy gas station. The parking lot looks like a big ally that forms a square. There are no security cameras and lights to brighten the area. We were assigned a room on the 2nd floor. The elevators have a weird musty smell. When the elevator doors open, you get hit in the face with a air freshener smell (smells very similar to Arm and Hammer carpet powder) and a wet carpet smell, however those carpenter haven’t been cleaned since George H.W. Bush was in office. The rooms are dated and so if the furniture. My great grandma probably had the same set back in the 60’s. The ceilings are low and dingy, the bathrooms are the size of a small walk in closet at best. We were given a connected room and could hear every single thing. We opened the door to the connected room to inspect and there was a huge bubble in the ceiling. The kind of bubble formed from water so I would expect mold to be around that area. The hotel is already sketchy enough but to be in a room with two doors with one dead bolt on each and a complete stranger(s) on the other side of the two thin old doors, that’s a no for me. We ended ip leaving within 2 min of being there and going to a much better hotel up the street. Here is some free game, if the security deposit is on $20, don’t consider said hotel."

"Review of Courtyard Houston Brookhollow: I recently stayed at the Courtyard Houston Brookhollow from February 9th to February 10th, 2024, and had a pleasant experience overall. Overall, my experience at the Courtyard Houston Brookhollow was positive, with clean accommodations, friendly service, and a peaceful atmosphere. I would certainly consider staying here again in the future."

"Stayed 1 night in January 2024. I chose this location because it was convenient to my office as I was traveling from out of town. Let me start by saying that the staff is very nice and welcoming. I got in later than anticipated due to flight delays. I just wanted to get into my room and settle in for the evening. I arrived, was assigned my room, went to it, noticed it didn't seem too clean, but brushed it off my shoulder. So, I begin to get settled, and notice that the bathroom is also not very clean - hair everywhere, etc. Ok, now I'm beginning to get a bit grossed out, but turning a blind eye - I'm tired and have to be up early. I remove the cover on top of the bed (not the comforter, but the cover) and notice that the actual comforter is so dirty. I literally don't think that the thing has ever been cleaned. I stripped it off the bed and used the sheet to seep with. I kindly checked out early the next morning and asked a few of my colleagues if they had experienced the same thing - to which we all replied that we would never stay at this property again."

"Nov2023 Love this location. This is my 3rd time here for annual trip, but they have started using a new "air freshener" that is allergy meltdown inducing. We needed to move rooms and all the halls and lobby are full of the odor. If it's clean, it doesn't need air freshener. The smell is like the things you buy at the car wash to hang in a car. Not a clean smell. Bed comfortable and cute bistro in lobby for food snacks or meeting up with friends. Staff very nice and friendly and helpful!"

"Great and friendly staff! Very personable and professional! Tammy at the bar was extremely professional and yet very personable and made me feel special and blot just some other customer. I felt like a guest in your home and was made to feel special! Also Rosa at the front desk was also a pleasure to see and speak with everyday! She was very professional, attentive, courteous, and really made you feel important and special. She is a true professional and assets to the company!"
