Hotel Ylem

"Lying front desk clerk. I called at 9:59pm on 2/29. Over the phone they said I can come at 2:00 am for $50 fee. Then when I arrived they said it’s $80 to check in early. Then she called her manager and said I had to pay for another night. I refuse… I had a feeling I was going to be inconvenienced. The employees either need to stop lying to customers or get on the same page. Lack of communication. I’m pretty sure that’s the same girl at the desk who answered the phone. She had the most stupidest look on her face. Piss poor as* customer service skills"

"We arrived to the hotel and after asking to cancel for our second night the receptionist told us we could not and that it was not refundable. Then we got our room keys and our first room the keys didn’t even work and then after about 10 minutes we got new keys and got sent to a different room. Room number two smelled like mold and mildew and we asked to get either reimbursed or a new room. When we said it smelled like mold and mildew the receptionist didn’t even question us as if they knew it did already. That room also was very outdated and did not look like the pictures on their website at all. Our third room was better and looked like the pictures. We only received 3 towels and a half roll of toilet paper though. Breakfast was nothing special and we will not ever be going back. Spend your dollars elsewhere."

"Absolutely wonderful hotel! I highly recommend staying here if you have the chance. The whole place is very charming and unique. The rooms are clean and spacious. The beds are super comfortable. The location is perfect and easily accessible for public transportation or your own vehicle. The parking lot is monitored by a security person all day and night (they drive through it and stay on the property). The breakfast was better than other, more expensive hotels I've stayed at. I really can't say enough good things about Hotel Ylem!"

"I stayed only one nite, booked via Hotel Tonight app. Wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised...great retro styling decor. Loved the tall ceilings...friendly enough staff. Room was clean...catch out the brass dial phone, the retro "ice box", the cabinet built to resemble a "steamer truck", etc."

"This was a close by hotel for the national championship game (go Blue!). Staff checking me in couldn’t be more accommodating and helpful. Unfortunately the rooms had a terrible odour. Musty and a hint of pee. Once you get past that, the room was comfortable, with a decent mattress. But overall very dated. The only real highlight was sitting at the bar and chatting and being taken care of by the excellent bartender Zander. That man made my trip and is the only reason I might ever stay at this hotel again."
