"I appreciated Berkshire Hathaway realtor’s excellent communication throughout the process. Their responsiveness is impressive, promptly addressing my queries and keeping me informed at every stage of all transaction. It contributed to a smooth and efficient move in process and experience."
"In the beginning of living at one of their rental properties, I smelled gas. After lg&e came out we did have a gas leak, then they had a plumber to come out to fix the issue since it was coming from the water heater, I was out running errands & got a call from the plumber saying ‘ they told me not to tell you this but you have a carbon monoxide leak every time you have turned on your hot water you’ve been exposed to carbon monoxide ‘ so I call Luke & address that they may never keep that kind of information from me while I have two babies in the house. By the time I make it to my house the plumber said ‘ I should have never told you, you got me in trouble ‘ SO that means luke called and got onto him for telling me the truth. They gave me 1 month off rent (because they knew they were wrong) now after the lease is up & I'm moved out they are finding imaginary things to take out of my deposit & are withholding my deposit because the woman doesn’t feel like it & she legally has 30 days to give it to me so instead of writing a check they are going to wait the entire time they are legally allowed to wait. They don’t care about your life and your safety & luke is incapable of having an adult conversation he should be fired. They are also waiting until the very last day to return my deposit check"
"I’ve found this local branch of Berkshire to be both greedy and dishonest. My family has rented two homes from Berkshire Hathaway. The first, as I understand it was a brand new home that had been empty for two years, give or take a few months. My family had a lease with an option to buy that home. At the renewal time the company sold the home. This was in the pandemic, my family was still rather new to Louisville and it made our transition so difficult. Berkshire rented another home to us that was owned by the owners of Berkshire that is in a remarkable neighborhood but needed so much work. By work I mean the deck, garage door, the basement steps, plumbing, gas issues, mold, all new windows and roof. Nevertheless rather than fixing and replacing, they patched things up or all out ignored them. Their reasoning was because they weren’t charging what they could be charging me. Long story short, after almost 24 months my family moved and not the company sent me straight to collections for not cleaning, landscaping, carpet cleaning (in which there are only basement steps in which had a remed carpet), hauling away garbage which was placed on the curb, keys and a garage door opener (in which the keys were turned in and the garage door opener was never replaced after the garage was worked on 3 times). Berkshire has an employee and I won’t mention the name but comes across as soulless, power driven, wicked and looking for acceptance and approval from owners in which she will never get. I really wish there was an option for 0 stars… I would not recommend this company to anybody buying or renting. Unfortunately their property portfolio is expansive in this region."
"I had a great experience with Mika Heinze of BHHS PW property management. Simply stated she was fantastic. Certainly surpassed my expectaitons. She procurred a tenant for me. The process of locating one, the detailed paperwork, the hands on treatment..all so professional...would highly suggest to anyone in need of a property manager..run don't walk to Mika!!!"
"BEWARE!! DO NOT RENT 643 S 42nd St, Louisville Ky. I moved into the unit in October 2021. When I moved in, the house was not even cleaned properly. The house was on the market for 100+ days when I moved in. Within the first year, I found out VERY QUICKLY why it was so cheap. The basement FLOODED consistently, damaging hundreds of dollars worth of clothes that I sat next to the dryer. The upstairs bathroom shower would literally leak THROUGH the walls and pour into the downstairs dining area. The downstairs bathroom shower would pour into the basement; on top of the shower falling apart. TOOK THEM WEEKS to actually fix this problem; resulting in the floors and walls becoming permanently damaged. The electrical outlets weren’t properly secured to the walls. Speaking of electric, the electric bill was OVER $400 EVERY MONTH. I’m a truck driver, so I’m barely at the home. The water bill was OVER $300 MOST MONTHS. The property came with NO STOVE OR REFRIGERATOR (which is normal in Louisville, I guess). Animals were digging holes through the roof, nesting in the ceiling of the home. The summer of 2022, the CENTRAL AIR WENT OUT (while it was over 100°), and they took over a week to actually get it fixed. This was 1 of 2 times in that same year. The winters ARE VERY COLD because there is no insulation. The basement was an insect paradise because of the holes in the walls. The ground water from outside would literally pour in the the house the cracks. And then……. There’s the mice problem. I caught a GRAND TOTAL OF 17 mice. Yes, I kept track. They were digging through the rotting wood inside the walls and traveling throughout the entire houses. I threw away food on MULTIPLE occasions because they were climbing into the cabinets, leaving mice droppings EVERYWHERE. The mice were the last straw for me. I decided to leave and was met with passive aggressive responses. I just wanted to leave in peace. I left the house in a better condition then it was given to me. They had THE NERVE to take my ENTIRE $1200 deposit. The house was spotless. I did leave some of the bigger trash in the alley for it to be picked up by the garbage men, so I expected them to charge for that, understandably. Their reasoning was because the ceiling fans had dust on them, 2 blinds needed to be replaced, and that there were some leaves in the basement. The funny thing is, the basement was spotless. I purposely left 2 dead mice down there that I refused to have my cleaners pick up. Because I didn’t want BERKSHIRE to try and cover up the fact that the mice were an huge issue. The blinds are less than $60. These people deserve less than 0 stars. Mika Heinze & Remire Heinze are very condescending and rude. Do NOT trust them at all. It’s a scam. I Recommend you all look at the photos and videos I posted."
