Reviews of Cigar Factory Hoyo de Cuba
"Not a bad little spot but not much of a selection."
"I am a tobacconist from South Texas that being said I can honestly say that this was one of the worst cigars I’ve ever smoked or close to it gentleman that helped me was very nice I purchased an 8 x 80 cigar on Saturday with the intentions of smoking it on Monday When Monday rolls around it was a very nice morning cool crisp air birds chirping I proceeded to cut the cigar preparing it to be smoked as I took my initial draw I noticed a very particular sound as if I was burning wood and a taste that That made my stomach hurt but I kept smoking given the cigar chance after chance but I still couldn’t get overhearing the crackling so I decided to cut the cigar open after cutting the cigar open I’ve noticed that the cigar was filled with short fillers and stems so the crackling were coming from stems that were stuffed into the cigar as of the leftover tobacco from loading all the scars scraped off the floor repacked into the cigar I read some of the reviews about the cigars with people thinking that these are authentic Cubans and I want to apologize on their behalf of letting you think this is The cigars are by far a disgrace to the cigar industry"
"For the price-point, I think they have the best cigars in town. You can smoke inside or just buy and go. I'd recommend hanging out here some time--Raul is extremely hospitable and a good man, and the store draws a good crowd."
"The best cigars in town! It’s the place for serious cigar enthusiasts. If you are new to cigars and you are used to online cigars; You will taste the difference, there is no comparison. Raul and his family have been rolling quality cigars for centuries. You feel authenticity to its best."
"First off, to describe my taste in cigars let me say that I enjoy cigars such as brick house, rp the edge, padron, and flor de Cuba. With that said, I was really excited to try their natural wrapper robusto when the representative told me that these cigars were made from the same type of tobacco as some of my favorite cigars; Cuban seeded Nicaraguan tobacco. After lighting up the cigar, it didn't take me long to realize that a low quality, harsh tobacco was used. The flavor was mostly earthy, with some nuttiness and creaminess. However, I couldn't get over the harshness of the tobacco, which for me made this smoke very mediocre. Considering that I could find this type of flavor profile from a cigar in the $1.50 - $3 price range, I don't think I'll be buying anymore cigars from hoyo de Cuba at their asking price of $5 per stick. It is worth mentioning that the construction of the cigar was actually pretty good. It's too bad they didn't pair this good construction with a high quality tobacco."
