O'Brien Riverwalk Boutique Hotel

"Close to the Riverwalk parking was a breeze. They said they would clean the room but never did. Rooms were small but it was clear that it would be .I liked the balcony area had a few breakfasts out there."

"One of the favorite hotels I've ever stayed in because it has a nice vintage charm to it. Ignore the people saying it looks old. That's the point. It's supposed to look like a hotel from me past era. Super cool and quaint. You're a 5 minute walk from the Riverwalk and 10 minutes from the Alamo. Staff is super nice and care."

"The O'Brien is a unique historical find among the chain hotels in the San Antonio convention area. The hotel is just off the Riverwalk but not among or like all the standard "convention" hotels in the area. It has a unique history and interior decor. My king room was larger than most and clean. The staff were very pleasant and helpful with directions, suggestions, etc. It is a good, off the tourist area value for the cost. Being "across the river" from the Riverwalk tourist areas there could be more shops, local restaurants, neighborhood ambiance but being as it is such a short walk to those on the other side, it is not a big thing. Perhaps over time, this area which is now largely big parking lots will get developed with a "historical" feel like some of the other adjacent areas."

"We loved our stay at the O'Brien. The bed was so comfortable, room was very clean and spacious. The staff was exceptional. Devon (spelling?) was amazing and is an example of what all employees should strive for. He was so friendly, engaging, and willing to help. The location was great for walking to the river walk. Our room was on the 1st floor, right by the street. It was quiet and we had no complaints. Would stay here again!"

"Excellent location with access to the Riverwalk one block over. The hotel is very pretty from the outside and has a lot of charm. The interior also has its own charm, but it could benefit from some much-needed TLC. The paintwork, carpet, and lighting require attention. It's possible to maintain charm without it feeling dingy and musky. The bed was very comfortable, better than some more expensive hotels I have stayed in recently. There was a fridge and the AC did a good job cooling the room. Overall, it was a good stay but the inside needs some TLC, especially at this price point."
