Reviews of Comfort Suites West Dallas - Cockrell Hill
"Customer service is excellent. Front desk help is awesome. Enjoy staying at comfort on crocker hill. Jenifer at breakfast is always making sure there is breakfast nice and warm. Highly recommend staying here."
"This review falls both ways, the desk staff was friendly upon check in but gave me false information about the WiFi. When I arrived I asked if the WiFi connection was good and worked and I was told yes! I also mentioned that this was an emergency stay. He assured me that everything was good. The room was clean and did have any bad order so that was a plus, when trying to connect my tablet to the WiFi it would not connect so I could continue my teams meeting, I asked the front desk and he said “oh the WiFi is not working and not sure what’s wrong!”. I used my phone hotspot instead. So far the evening was quiet, we parked one of our vehicles near the back door close to the cameras because parking does get busy after 7pm. So if you leave come back early to get a spot. Well this AM, we found our truck broken into. We notified the front desk which we were informed they have no access to the cameras and only GM does. We made the police report and contacted the GM but was advised by the GM they will not show us the cameras until they get contacted by the police!! Security was nice but we also learned in the morning by security that they have had many vehicle break-ins and was able to give us some information to help with our report. Just keep in mind staying to look your vehicle and leave nothing in it (good thing we didn’t leave anything in our vehicle, but they try to steal it and the kill switch was activated) and do not rely on the WiFi use here."
"My family and I booked a room for my brother and family to stay over last week. The staff was super rude, especially Rigoberto, and the tattooed lady that works with him during the night shift. Both are super unprofessional. They are uncorteous, rude, arrogant and think guests are beneath them. My sister in law had to get nasty with them for them to actually move and help. They never changed the towels from the rooms. A whole week went by and nothing. My brother told me they even ran out of toilet paper and they had to buy it because the staff never went and gave them more. They keys would deprogram every single day. They never had the first floor bathrooms open or in working condition. They would not even clean spills. There was a glass jar of pickles that broke in the elevator and when my brother went into the elevator he had to skip over the hazardous broken glass all over the floor. Everything seemed to be in shambles and all that Rigoberto seemed to care about was whatever was going on in his cellphone. Very poor professionalism. We will call their administrative offices to report this and more. Do not even consider this "hotel" an option to stay."
"Very poor service just trying to request towels and toilet paper after staying here for a 4 day weekend. Housekeeping also left our door open when we were out for some hours. Water was barely hot and elevator would take forever. Rooms were semi-decent, breakfast was small and not worthwhile aside from the waffles."
"My wife and I recently embarked on a cross-country trip, during which we stayed at various hotels. Regrettably, the location I'm about to describe was, without a doubt, the worst we've encountered during all our travels. From the moment we checked in at the lobby, a pungent smell of marijuana greeted us, emanating from the hallway. We proceeded to our room on the second floor at around 8 pm, a time that should typically indicate the room had been cleaned and prepared for guests. However, upon entering, the overpowering odor of marijuana hit us so strongly that we couldn't even spend a minute in the room, let alone sleep. I tried to request a new room, and to my surprise, I was informed by the front desk staff that there wasn't much the manager could do about the smoking in the room policy, as it was challenging to prove that smoking had occurred in the room. I found this response unsatisfactory, considering the intensity of the odor in the room, which should be proof enough. They advertise "breathe easy" in our smoke free environment. We were eventually assigned a second room on the same floor, but this room had a strong musty foul odor, reminiscent of mildew. It was so gross we wanted to leave, but it was so late and at this point, we had already spent too much time with the check-in process and were exhausted from our trip. It gets worse unfortunately! Around 10:15 pm, just as we lay down in bed, the smoke detector alarm suddenly began to beep incessantly. I called the front desk, but there was no answer. I had to get out of bed and physically go downstairs to ask for help from the front desk. I asked if there was a maintenance crew member who could replace the battery. She informed me that it would take 45 minutes to an hour to get someone to come. What a nightmare!! In desperation I offered to buy and replace the battery myself since they had no batteries in house. How can a hotel have NO batteries or regularly maintain their alarms? Insanity! I went to a nearby gas station and purchased the battery, as she said I would be reimbursed for it. She took my name and number, and a copy of the receipt to give to the GM Taylor Burnett, who was supposed to call me in the morning. She also documented all the incidents and expressed confidence that it would be addressed. Mr. Burnett, the general manager, called and apologized for the incidents assuring me that he would address the issues. He also offered to credit me 25,000 points back to my account and to reimburse my credit card for the battery which was $10. However, it has now been three weeks, and despite my attempts to contact him via voicemail, I have been unable to reach him nor have received any reimbursement or points. Such practices are entirely unacceptable from a hotel as well-established as Comfort Inn. It's disheartening that after having a wonderful experience at a Comfort Inn in Albuquerque, New Mexico, this experience in Dallas, Texas, has led us to vow never to stay in another Comfort Inn again. It's incredibly disappointing to encounter a hotel and staff that seem indifferent to customer service, and based on this experience, this particular hotel might as well be named the "Smokey Inn Marijuana Motel." Save yourself the trouble and seek out a better, cleaner place to stay that is actually managed by a culpable adult."
