"It took 3 weeks to get mammogram results. I went in November 16th and received results in the mail yesterday. Over the years, I get the results 3 to 5 days later not counting the weekend. Very doable. Disappointing."
"Extremely poor overall experience. I have 2 spinal injuries. A pinched nerve at c6/c7, which is not only very painful, but also has rendered my left arm useless. I have another pinched nerve at s1. I asked the person with whom I booked the appointment, in person, if their MRI (MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING) machine was large enough for me (I am a bigger guy). She said "It won't be a problem". Turns out, however, their machine was too narrow to fit my shoulders in, much less, the rest of my torso. I was told repeatedly that I had to fast for 4 hours before my MRI's because I was getting a contrast IV. In fact, I did not. The woman who checked me in for my appointment on the day of the procedure had to be reminded multiple times that I was scheduled for 2 MRI's. While she was getting the paperwork together for me to fill out, I had to point out that I had already filled out all my paperwork and submitted it via email. When I was called back to the front desk the man who took my payment acted dismissive, put out, and rude, I did not take it personally because while I was in the waiting room I observed him being that way to his coworkers and the other patients. The technician who was preparing me for my procedure had the unfortunate habit of answering my questions in the middle of them being asked. After she brought me into the MRI room, she tried to force a collar around my neck to immobilize my head and push my shoulders down which, with my injury, was very painful. I told her this and she kept trying to fit the collar on me, eventually saying "well, we'll just have to see if we can do this without it". She started to put me into the MRI and as soon as my shoulders went in, I knew we had a problem. I had to squeeze my shoulders towards my chest, which, with my cervical spine injury, was very painful. I told her this, and without really acknowledging me she proceeded to try to shove me in further until the bones in my elbows stopped me from going in any further. I told her "This isn't going to work" to which she responded, "just pull your elbows in tighter". I repeated my objection and she finally acquiesced. She then told me of another facility, American Health Imaging. After I redressed, I returned to the front desk to have my co-pay returned to my credit card and the woman there gave me the MRI orders and said I could take them anywhere. Much to my chagrin, however, I noticed on the way to American Health Imaging that she had only given me 1 of my 2 MRI orders. So, I had to turn around and go back to get the rest of my paperwork. The most frustrating thing about my experience with River City Imaging Center is the fact that all my many problems that day could have been avoided when I mentioned my concerns to the person I booked the appointment with. Because of RCIC my whole treatment, for what turns out to be a profoundly severe injury, got delayed by weeks. American Health Imaging, on the other hand, were very polite, professional, understanding and accommodating. They never had to be reminded that I was there for 2 MRI's, no fasting, no changing into a gown, no neck collar, no pain. I will never go back to RCIC, and I strongly advise against anyone else subjecting themselves to them either."
