Reviews of Quest Diagnostics
"I truly hate leaving this type of review. But…I waited almost an hour before being taken back… the waiting area was too full people were standing up all over the place! STOP overbooking!! It was ridiculous to wait that long… if my mother had not been with me also getting bloodwork I would have left! I also HATE that you cannot speak to a human being when scheduling… i think I may move the two of us to Stric ."
"Quest won’t tell you ( happened to both me and my spouse there) what you’re signing electronically right before your blood draw for Medicare customers is an ABN. So when Medicare denies coverage you as the patient is stuck with a huge lab bill ten times the amount Quest accepts from Medicare. Never sign an ABN at Quest, unless you want a huge unexpected bill from Quest. Also, Medicare requires Quest to give a printed copy of the ABN to the patient as the patient leaves, EVEN IF the patient signed the ABN electronically. Quest failed to give a printed ABN to my spouse, yet is still billing her. Quest is very deceptive and not transparent at all regarding their predatory billing in my experience and opinion. I spoke to Medicare customer service about this and they confirmed ( off the record) that they have far more complaints regarding Quest than LabCorp. I know where I’m going next time I need labs. Forewarned is for armed."
"Horrible. One of the worst labs I have ever been to in San Antonio. Was 1st in line at 7:24AM and others showed up 20 min later. The 2nd person did not have an appt. They took the 2nd person and 6 others before me and I waited 1.5 hrs. There is no front desk worker anymore and just a kiosk to login. The kiosk is very hard to navigate and not user friendly at all. I had to complain to a lab technician to get taken back. They were not friendly or fast."
"Do not go here, worst place ever. Rude people and no good customer service. I took my toddler in for blood work, one person insert the needle and I guess the second person didnt find the vein either so she moved the needed side to side. My son started to cry and they were telling him to quiet down. They said your son moved so thats why she was moving the needed. My toddler refused to have them try the other hand, I agreed. They were so in a rush to leave for the day too, rushing things and not doing them correctly. We will be going to another location, but now is going to be worst for my toddler since he had a bad experience with two people that didn't know what they were doing or atleast how to draw blood from a toddler."
"Judging from the mixed reviews, I suppose service can be spotty. However, I had a pleasant, quick, and seamless experience. I booked an appointment online, which did take a little extra effort because I had to create an account, but after that everything went smoothly & efficiently. I showed up a few minutes early for my appointment, arriving to a nearly full waiting room, sure that I would be in for a wait. The check-in process was quick & easy using this little kiosk thing that scans your ID & insurance card. Then, lo & behold, my name was called—right at my appointment time! The phlebotomist Lisbeth was very amiable & efficient, so I was out of there in less than 10 minutes. What could be better? I plan to follow the same winning strategy for my next laboratory follow up in three months. One pro tip: the lab is in the Atrium professional building, whose entrance is on the left side of the hospital’s lobby area."
