"I got a reference for B & J, so called Mr. Jerry Offutt, the owner to see if he could send a technician out to my house to see why my garage door quit working. Within a couple of hours, Frankie from B & J arrived and checked out the problem. As I had suspected, he confirmed that the old door opener was “fried” and totally shot. He pulled a new opener from his service truck and installed a new LiftMaster unit, and did so at a very reasonable price. The installer was very polite and also very efficient. "A family member asked me to help after he attempted to replace a broken spring on his garage door himself. The project did not end well. I examined the door and found the springs were under tension and the door was unstable and stuck partially open. I felt that it was too dangerous to attempt repairs without the necessary resources and experience. Someone recommend B & J Overhead Door Service and an appointment was made to assess the situation the next morning. The residents of the home were committed to work and school, so I volunteered to stay at their home the next day while a service technician came to determine what would be necessary to put the door in working order. A technician named Frank arrived within the agreed time frame, and after a thorough examination of the damaged door, gave a cost estimate and said he had the necessary parts on his truck to begin repairs right away. After a brief phone conversation with the homeowner, I asked Frank to proceed with the necessary repairs. First, Frank secured the unstable door and disconnected the electric door opener. Then he carefully went about getting the door in the closed position so he could gain access to the springs and gradually gradually release tension on the springs. Then he dismantled the door system, installed two new springs, reassembled the door components, secured an improperly installed track, replaced defective photoelectric safety devices, tensioned the new springs and adjusted everything. The door opened and closed normally, but Frank wasn't finished with the job untill he tested the safety system systems. The safety check disclosed that the door did not stop closing when it came into contact with an object in it's path of motion. Frank determined that this dangerous condition was caused by malfunction of a circuit within the electric door opener and repaired the problem. He then then checked everything again and determined that the safety systems were working properly. After Frank repaired the safety device in the electric opener he lubricated as needed and once again thoroughly checked to assure that everything was working properly. Frank is a safety conscious, organized and efficient technician. And when he completed his work he was kind enough to help me replaced the personal property that had to be removed from the garage to provide enough room for him to work. The job was completed for the estimated cost and everything now works properly. I highly recommend B & J Overhead Door Service, and their technician, Frank. Jerry was over in an hour, repaired enough to function until we could order new ones.The price was reasonable,installation prompt by Mark and Mike.
