"We were looking to move and found this beautiful location with a privacy fence. I called and talked to the owner a few times. Monthly is $500 plus electric and then you have to pay a deposit of $250 (for dogs and for people). I’m not sure what the people deposit was for but the $250 was refundable so we were like okay so be it. The owner said he may have a spot and he’d have to send us an application and then there was someone he wasn’t sure if they were leaving or staying so he’d talk with them while we filled out the app. He sent us the application which just asks how many people are with you, age of kids, camper info, and then it asks for your SS# and if they can check your credit. We’ve been full timing for awhile now and not once had ANYONE asked for our SS# or to check our credit. We filled out the whole application but denied checking our credit and didn’t put our SS# on either. One I sent it to him he never responded back, I asked if he heard anything on the people there and he finally said that they weren’t giving him a straight answer so he didn’t have a spot. We decided to go right down the road to Sunset Acres, for two weeks we drove past Scenic and every time we looked there has been the same open spot with no one in it. We now believe that because we didn’t allow them to check our credit that they just refused up in general, which yes they have a right to, but I’d also appreciate not being lied to and just a straight up “I do apologize but unless we have access to check your credit we unfortunately cannot allow you to stay” type of answer instead. He also said they have a ten year policy on campers so anything 2013 and above is fine but anything below is not. We own a 2022..I’m just saying if we were able to buy that with no issues then I’m sure our credit is fine. So glad we didn’t go here. I’d definitely recommend Sunset Acres to anyone! Go check out my review on their page!"
"Very easy checkin/out! The spaces are large and the privacy fence/grass are/tree was great for our dogs and our privacy. Location is great for being in between town and palo dura canyon but is about 20-25 min drive to get to either. Do note there is a train that passes and is loud every like 30minutes, we got used to that by night 2"
"We had a last minute stay at Scenic Valley RV Park while driving through Amarillo and we cannot say enough great things about this place. The owners were so accommodating of our situation and we were impressed by the park as soon as we arrived. The gravel sites were spacious (enough for our 42ft 5th wheel, towing rig and extra vehicle), each had its own privacy fence and a patch of grass for your pup. There also was a laundry and shower facility available but we didn’t end up needing them. Steve and his wife are truly “salt of the earth” kind of people. We initially thought we were going to need 2 nights due to an emergency with our dog but ended up only needing one. Although we were more than happy to pay, Steve was so gracious to refund the 2nd night. Overall, we would 100% recommend staying here if in Amarillo. We definitely hope to be back!"
"I rarely leave reviews, because I expect people to provide their services to the best of their ability. But once in a while you run across someone, who goes above and beyond your expectations. That would be Scenic Valley. Plenty of room, well thought out hookups, privacy fences, mini dog parks on every site….I could go on and on! Definitely worth five stars!"
"We really enjoyed our 2-night stay in Amarillo at the end of June, and the privacy we were afforded at Scenic Valley RV Park. We were at the end of a row so we only had a privacy fence on one side, but the park was quiet enough that the lack of an additional privacy fence wasn't a big deal. It also had a good view of the lake I gave the location 4 stars because it wasn't very close to the interstate, there wasnt much to do within walking distance, and we had to travel at least 10 minutes to get to any of the attractions in the area. Otherwise, the location was great! The owners were really nice, and even tried to help us find a piece of our drone that had broken off after it got dark. They were working on expanding the park while we were there, so hopefully we can visit again soon to see the finished product."
