"Dr. Tolar and staff are the best; Dr. Tolar’s credentials speak for themselves. The office has always worked to get my dog seen when needed, and taken care of my dog as if he is one of their own. Office runs efficiently. Highly recommend Dr. Tolar."
"I have had a very poor experience with this clinic. This is unfortunate because Dr. Tolar came highly recommended. My dog developed a cataract overnight which was very scary for us. We were recommended to seek care with Dr. Tolar's office. I called Wednesday to schedule an appointment and couldn't get through to the office. I left a voicemail stating that I would like to schedule an appointment. I immediately received a text stating that texting is the most efficient way for the office to communicate. I explained that I would like to schedule an appointment. Brittny, the receptionist, then responded. She told me that the clinic is booked up for the next three months and that they could put me on a waitlist. I stated that I would love to be put on the waitlist and informed her that the first available appointment is fine. She responded that they would need more information and that the clinic is closing early for holiday hours, but someone would reach out the following day. I said thank you and proceeded to send all of the information needed. Thursday morning I had not heard from anyone so I called again. No one answered so I left another voice-mail. I explained that I was in contact with someone to schedule an appointment, but had additional questions that may be easier to discuss over a phone call. I received a text immediately stating that texting is the most efficient way, but if I wanted a return call by end of day to respond with call. I responded with call. I then received another text stating that someone would reach out by end of day, but I could ask questions through text in the meantime. I explained I would like a call and then asked if they could go ahead and schedule the appointment for me. Hours later, I received a text stating that the office is closed for the day and someone would reach out Monday. Still no call or appointment. Today, on Monday, I receive a text at 4:00 asking if I would like to continue setting something up. I responded with no and explained why. I started to think about what would happen if there was an emergency and I couldn't reach my veterinarian? Poor response and communication from reception has reflected badly on this entire business. This is extremely unfortunate because I was recommended to Dr. Tolar by our vet whom I trust completely. I no longer would trust this office with the care of my dog who is very important to me. After expressing my concerns, I received this " I apologize, we aren't open on the weekends and were closed last week due to the holidays. I'm sorry you didn't realize that. I will note that Dr. Tolar is the only board-certified ophthalmologist in the Louisville area, just so you're well informed. I am glad you got in elsewhere. Please reach out in the future if you need anything and I am sorry that you were confused about our hours ". For those still reading, I was not confused about the hours. I called, texted, and left multiple voicemails during their business hours. We were just overlooked."
"I personally have never had to take any of my animals here, BUT I have seen the results from by patients when I worked as a veterinary technician. Our office always recommended Dr Erica Tolar. Now, as a small business owner of a grooming salon, I still recommend her to clients who have dogs with chronic eye issues. I have been told by colleagues she is one of the leading experts on animal opthamology."
"Appreciate the care our pup received here. His eyes are doing much better. Only part I don’t care for is the location ….well and the shipping charges. Great customer service otherwise."
