"Very bad. Not friendly and not helpful. I called to schedule my daughter for her preschool eye exam and I got hold for more than an hour and it hang up. I called again and same thing happen. Thanks to Kentucky Eye Institutes for helping that day."
"My 4 and a half year old nephew had his first eye doctor appointment today. It's a big deal for him, as he has been diagnosed with Autism and new situations are sometimes stressful and intense for him already. Whoever the Optometrist is who is "filling in" for someone this week created an absolutely terrible and terrifying experience for him - grabbing his face and attempting to shine the light in his eyes, and telling him that he was "making things worse" for the both of them. What was "making things worse" was this horrible and careless doctor, who was attempting to force a 4 year old child (who was visibly uncomfortable and struggling) to have a bright light shined into their eyes. I understand that working in the medical field is stressful and everyone has bad days, including doctors, but this is absolutely appalling behavior. I have never left a public review before, but I wanted to make it known that today this place fell spectacularly short for a little boy who struggles with new situations and still tries his hardest. On behalf of my 4 year old nephew, and my sister who was doing her best to keep her son comfortable - thank you to the front desk staff who tried their best to alleviate this disgusting experience."
"I got referred to Family Eyecare Associates a few years ago by my Optometrist and had a decent enough experience. They gave me a prescription and I got new glasses - no biggie. Fast forward two years to just a few days ago and I call to get my medical records since my Optometrist closed her practice and I need to go find a new one. The person who answered the phone refused to give me my records, just flat said no. He said "It had been over a year since my appointment so I wasn't eligible to receive my records." I don't care if it's been 20 years. Those are my records and I am entitled to them. This is completely illegal and a HIPAA violation as patients are not allowed to be denied access to their medical records at all and I've had to file a complaint to the HHS to receive them. Incredibly frustrating."
"I had an appointment today for 11:20 am. When I got there I was told to go back to my car and they would come get me. No problem. Forty minutes later I called them and said that it could be another 15 minutes or so. I waited another 10 minutes and then left. There is no excuse for making a patient wait 50 minutes in the parking lot. We have had this Covid thing around long enough for them to figure out the scheduling. If they knew that they were running that for behind, they should have called me before I came and asked if I wanted to come in late or re-schedule. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out."
"We took our child here when a pediatrician suggested she get screened for vision processing. The exam answered so many questions that we as parents had been asking in vain. Our child went through several months of vision therapy. It was expensive. It did take time from work, but today, our child likes reading. She reads on her own, where before she would fight us to read a couple pages. She is playing softball when prior to therapy, a ball would hit her in the face. I even notice her left and right orientation is better. If you have a child struggling with hand-eye coordination, or reading, have them checked out. It made all the difference with our kiddo. The peace of mind is well worth the expense and time devoted to it."
