Student University Health Services

Student University Health Services, located at 830 South Limestone in Lexington, Kentucky, is a vital institution providing health services to full-time students at the University of Kentucky. Operating from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays during the Fall and Spring semesters, and from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during Summer Sessions and breaks, the clinic offers unlimited, free office visits covered by the Health Fee for full-time students.

The Health Fee is mandatory for full-time undergraduate and graduate students during the Fall and Spring semesters, providing access to a range of medical services at the campus medical clinic. Services not covered by the Health Fee are billed as self-pay or through private/commercial insurance. Additionally, the institution offers the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) for medical care beyond the Health Fee coverage.

International students are automatically enrolled in the SHIP, while other UK students and dependents of insured students have the option to purchase the plan. UHS-UKHC can bill private and commercial insurance for services not covered by the Health Fee, ensuring comprehensive care for students. All visits to UHS are confidential per HIPAA guidelines, with strict measures in place to protect student privacy.

The clinic also accommodates part-time students, graduate students engaged in research, and spouses of eligible students on a self-pay basis or through insurance billing. F-1 students and J-Scholars with the student health insurance plan can access services at UHS, along with full-time and part-time BCTC students. University Health Service is committed to providing quality healthcare to the student community, ensuring access to essential medical services throughout the academic year.
