"Janet Vessels and her staff are wonderful and expert EMDR clinicians. I highly recommend them for treating trauma!"
"Janet Vessles, the owner of integrative counseling, charged my card for 3 $40 co pays from my primary insurance. I have secondary Medicaid, which I thought I added when I did my initial paperwork. However, for whatever reason, the biller did not have my secondary information on file so I emailed her my card and I asked for a refund. The biller said she didn’t have the authority to refund me and I would have to contact the owner. So I called Janet and left her a voicemail and she called me back. She said that because I failed to put in my insurance correctly it was not her responsibility to refund me until she got a payment from my secondary Medicaid. It is Medicaid fraud to charge a Medicaid patient as a provider that is in contract with Medicaid and I told her that. She still insisted that she would not refund me until my secondary payment came to her. I then looked at my patient portal and realized I had in fact uploaded my secondary insurance card on March 21st 2023 and my first session was on March 22nd. So she had my insurance information on file at the time that she charged my card and she is still refusing to give me a refund until my secondary insurance pays her. I have been calling her all morning and she has not answered. I had so much anxiety that I couldn’t sleep last night and I am worried about getting my groceries to feed my family today and I could really use my $120 that she stole from me. I don’t understand why a counselor would be so unethical as to withhold funds that are rightfully mine and it’s very frustrating to me that she would give the Counseling community such a bad name. Update: She refunded me on 4-21."
