Camberwell Grief Sanctuary, located at 3289 U.S. 421 in Bedford, Kentucky, is a place of healing and transformation for those navigating grief, loss, and trauma. Established by a community who have experienced profound loss themselves, Camberwell offers compassionate care to individuals who have lost a child, sibling, spouse, or have been affected by suicide, homicide, divorce, job loss, or the loss of a pet.
Surrounded by nature on 228 acres of land, Camberwell provides a safe environment where individuals can find support from both professionals and peers who understand the pain of grief. The sanctuary takes its name from the Camberwell Beauty Butterfly, symbolizing hope and transformation. Co-founders Mark and Kelly Parrish, who lost their daughter Kaytryn in 2012, created Camberwell with the vision of offering understanding, support, and safety to those in need.
Visitors to Camberwell can enjoy the beauty of nature through walking trails, peaceful spots among the trees, bird songs, and the sight of butterflies dancing. The sanctuary is open by appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Camberwell is dedicated to helping individuals believe that life can be beautiful again, even after experiencing profound loss.
