Reviews of Louisville Health & Healing
"Before starting therapy, I called the office to confirm that they accept my insurance and to ask about payment details so that I wouldn't have to later find myself in the position of needing to spend hundreds of dollars out of pocket for therapy. I was told that they accept my insurance and that my co-pay would be $20. After two sessions with my therapist, the receptionist called to let me know that my insurance wasn't going to cover my sessions and that I would need to pay ~$115 for each session. It's such a disappointing oversight, especially because I was proactive about explicitly getting the clinic's confirmation about my insurance coverage before starting therapy. There was no apology or any sense of accountability, and I just feel like my time and money have been completely wasted."
"I've been LH&H for almost 2 years and I absolutely love it! My therapist is amazing, we do different types of therapy to help me deal with my PTSD & trauma. The scheduling is flexible and easy to work around my work schedule. I highly recommend"
"I have had many therapists over the past 30 years, and I didn’t click with several of them and even the ones I did, unfortunately I didn’t feel like I was benefiting much from the therapy. I suffer from PTSD and assortment of other things from childhood trauma. My first appointment with Kelsi went really well, and I immediately felt like I clicked with her and by the second session, we had started EMDR (which I had never done as it’s *fairly* new), and immediately after, the feelings of hypervigilance I had surrounding what we had focused on that session was just…gone. I couldn’t believe how quickly it happened, and I kept waiting for it to come back, but it hasn’t. It felt like a miracle (I’m 49, so this has plagued me for decades)! Now, almost every session, I work on a different trigger, and I’m slowly (but 1,000x quicker than I thought possible) reclaiming my life. I can’t recommend Kelsi and EMDR enough, especially if you deal with uncontrollable feelings stemming from trauma. She’s literally reprogramming the way my brain responds to these triggers, and even though I still have a lot of work to go, I’m so encouraged by the progress that I look forward to each session, and I’ve already been with her longer than any other therapist. With the others, I got discouraged by the lack of progress and stopped going. In fact, I had been seeing a therapist that said they used EMDR right before Kelsi, but after 4 appointments with ZERO EMDR and nothing but talking about breathing and meditation (both things which I’ve already been doing for years), I decided to look for another, and I feel like I’ve gotten exactly who and what I need with Kelsi. So if you struggle with feelings of anxiety, depression, hopelessness, low self-worth, etc., especially if they stem from trauma, Kelsi is who you want! I’ve been working with her for only 3 months so far, and my quality of life has already increased SO much. I still don’t know HOW it works, but it 100% DOES! Thank you, Kelsi! Oh, and we do all of our sessions via telehealth and I love that, because driving to appointments, not getting lost, finding a place to park, being on time is another thing that has always triggered anxiety for me. Plus gas is expensive!"
"Can't say enough great things about LH&H. Kelsi is a phenomenal LCSW and we've had great success with EMDR and talk therapy. If you struggle with depression and/or anxiety, I highly recommend Kelsi! I've seen a variety of LCSWs throughout my life and Kelsi tops them all. She prioritizes your recovery and positively embraces your goals!"
"I have a long standing relationship with Lindsey Lowe LPCC-S and I can't say enough great things about her. She has been an amazing colleague to have around and has incredible integrity. Nobody ever sees Lindsey say anything about a person she wouldn't say directly to their face. I wanted to respond to a one star review related to Jordan Gage. I don't know this man but I work as a therapist in town and this review is harmful for the entire field because it's filled with industry myths. When a therapist says they accept your insurance they mean that they allow you to use it to pay for services, that is it. Many clients assume a therapist taking their insurance means it is totally free for the client. This person sounds like they had a plan that went entirely to deductible. There is no way for a contract therapist to know that from jump, or to have control over that. You're always free to this information via calling the number on the back of your own personal card. Jordan also has zero control over the billing department. People get mad at therapists for charging fees in order to pay their bills, but the reality is that session was actually worth much more than was charged considering the intensity of his experience and the fact that each item he is trained in also is a cost that comes out of his pocket. People love to blame Jordan Gage for his price as if he invented capitalism rather than being just as much of a victim of it as you are. If he has a parent die this individual along with most Group Practice therapists could have to choose between giving sub-par grief stricken therapy services or getting evicted from his own home while also burying a parent. Everyone please stop exploiting therapists and remember therapy is always an investment. It is a lot of money but Jordan Gage didn't create the systemic flaws he's being accused of here and publicly blasting him is harmful to the whole field."
