Groups Recover Together

"I got started on pain meds years ago when they said oxycoten was safe with in 30 minutes I knew there is no way these are not non addictive with in a week the race was on for years I lost so much over that addiction I tried many times detox after detox I would put together a few months and back I would go. I got married to a young lady she was 26 I was 41 she loved me really loved me she tried so hard to help me she got pregnant and we lost the baby that was a big heartbreak I took off with the car and stayed gone for 2 days while she went to work how stupid was that on my part .but threw that pain I found out about Suboxone threw another person who told me there is help withdrawal I was so sick my wife had to help me threw the door the doctor gave me the Subutex and in 30 minutes I was feeling almost normal I say almost because it takes work to stay clean no better way then helping another person who is suffering has u and I have been through. It works. We can recover but we must be brutally honest with ourselves and other"

"I had been with groups for four years. Two years ago I moved about 25 minutes from the office, across the border in Ohio. I made sure to tell my counselor and the office manager and was assured it would not be a problem. And for two years it wasn’t a problem. Then my counselor mentioned a store near me during group and I commented that I only live a few minutes away. Immediately after group I got a text (not even a phone call) saying she didn’t think she could see me anymore because she wasn’t licensed in Ohio. She text later that afternoon and said it was okay as long as I came to the office for group. Well the next day she called a staff meeting and informed me that I was kicked out of groups and gave me a two week notice. During group the next week both the counselor and Dr tried to gaslight me saying it was an insurance issue. It was not. I believe this was done in retaliation because I complained about both dr and counselor being sexist. Any time a male asked for an increase it was given with no questions. Females were always told they needed counseling not an increase."
