Fayette County Public Schools

"I have been in 3 schools so far in this city, and I have got to write my review for the school system. Just like any typical American school system: the school lunches are trash, the hours are long, and schools start very early. But I am dealing with it. I am getting decent results in school and many of the teachers I had were not as strict as I thought they were to be. Also the schools are free so I guess that's another plus. But still, I do wish they could improve their lunches and made everything by themselves instead of just processing and buying food.."

"Fayette county is trash. They’re always taking one step backward, taking away the kids free choice. Collections textbooks have been forced upon all, and math and argument writing tests are forced by the district. The superintendent does not know how to do his job, as he will not cancel school unless it snows 12 ft. He has no respect for the kids who are freezing at the bus stop."

"Their school closing system is ridiculous! When it is necessary to call off school, they don't. There have been several times I have had to send my child to school when every other county in ky had the sense to be closed. I heard of a Fayette county bus swerving into a ditch because the road conditions were dangerous. At the end of the day they only care about making a profit over student safety!! ."

"I hate Fayette county. The system for school closings is ridiculous. They put of school on the wrong days but make them go on the coldest days. Just stupid my son has Asthma and him going out in that cold don't help. They was nothing like when I was going to school..."

"JULIUS MARKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ...My son goes to JME he is in second grade and his teacher Mrs. G decided to show my son how it fells to push someone out of the way.... So she called me and told me what she done i guess she taught i was going to be OK with it so i went to the school and asked to speak to the principal!!!! i got the guidance concealer and I told her what happen she said she will take care of it... so the vice principal Mr Wealch calls me with an attitude yes the old music teacher so i went to the school board to try to talk to the person that's over JME and the rude lady that sits at the desk when you come in the door the desk on the left try 'ed to repeat to me what i said ya i didnt even speak to her when i called in the first place which was wrong and then told me the principal would call me which she did ... Very nice and my son went to another class room... but yet Mrs G is still walking around in the school like nothing ever happen I'm worried about other kids in that class room and i wounder what punishment did she get if any!!! This have been on my mind since it happen I pray for my son every time he gets on that bus that he will have a good day because what she done was wrong and my son will never forget what she done!!!!"
