"I went here from ages 4-10. I made so many friends and had the time of my life. The ladies that worked here were super nice and made me feel welcome."
"I have been sitting on these thoughts for a long time and didn't want to post a review out of frustration so I waited to say what I thought. It's very important that if you are expecting a child and call well in advance that you understand two things about this organization. 1.) They will not tell you if your newborn has a place at their facility. They will put you on a waiting list and tell you "they aren't sure, it's hard to tell, there are only one or two people ahead of you so you should be fine, etc." and even if they identify that you will not have a place, they will not call you to notify you so that you may reach out to other facilities in a timely fashion. They will also make ZERO apologies for this policy because "Why would we call you? You're on the waiting list and if we have a space for you, we will call you." 2.) Regardless of how early you are placed on their waiting list, if an existing parent becomes pregnant AFTER you, you will be bumped and they will not disclose this policy to you, nor inform you that you have been bumped back. I called this daycare 2 days after discovering I was pregnant in September 2018 and spoke with the director who informed me that the daycare moves it's infants to the 1yr. old room around the same time I would be needing childcare (August 2019) so she didn't see why it would be an issue and that they usually have parents calling in the last minute and I was on top of it! She asked if I would call her back after the first of the year and we would solidify things. I was elated because I had heard such great things about the care provided at this location. With that level of reassurance from the director herself, I ended my search for facilities. Unfortunately, that was the last time I spoke with the director. I made contact with the facility 6 additional times and was told each time that the director was unavailable and that I probably needed to speak with Shelby (who was also unavailable) because she handles the placements. I would leave my information and would never receive a call back. I was able to connect with a girl one time who went through what sounded like maybe a binder of papers which I can only assume was the people on the "list." She informed me in roughly March-ish that she could only see 2 people ahead of me and that I probably didn't have anything to worry about, but just in case, still talk to Shelby. In early May (at 36 weeks pregnant) I finally connected with the infamous Shelby. Unfortunately, my experience with her and her attitude was less than stellar. She informed me that no, my child does not have a place at their facility as they give preference and priority to existing parents and they have filled all 4 of their infant spots for the fall. When asking why I didn't receive a phone call notifying me that those spots had been filled, her response was, "Why would we call you? You're on a waiting list which means you don't have a spot for your child. We would only call you if we had a spot available for you. We'll keep you on the list, but you might not hear from us for a couple years." I think I did a disservice to myself by depending on the conversation back in September with the director and not getting more concrete answers leading up to the moment where I was so callously and rudely informed of how stupid I was for thinking I would have childcare or at least have received a phone call informing me otherwise. I don't disagree with the policy at all, it makes sense. However, I disagree with the fact that when it comes to newborn care, and the constant contact I was making to solidify things I should have been informed LONG before May that my child would not have a place at the facility so I could have had adequate time to seek care elsewhere. I also think that Shelby could work on her customer service skills and there could be some follow-up training regarding how they handle their placements."
