Reviews
"Middle schools cool and so is the highschool the reason this school seems so bad is because half these reviews are not in the AP classes, if you're in AP classes then its the best school you can get for engineering high/middle school. The non AP classes are bad and are more stereotypical for the area. The school may have a bad history but you have to go there to enjoy the real experience"
"I felt very unsafe there. There was so much violent language and behavior. The bathrooms were dirty and barley made you feel as though no one can see you. The classrooms were hot, no ac, horrible lighting. And dont get me started on those bathrooms, they were dirty, very old, covered in markers, and the stall door barley covered yourself so no one can see you. I got disrespected by not only teens such as freshmen. But senoir men who should be manly and respectful. They tried looking up my dress up the stairs. Just down disrespectful. The teachers were nice though, a little sterotypical alas. Its a shame they try their hardest to make these kids learn but most seem to not care. I feel like a prisoner there. When i went to gym they had one locked double doors and one metal gate in the halls! I had to see my consalor which the teacher knew and when i came back i couldnt even get into class! They say its to get people to stop skipping but its making me forcfully skip class! I cried so hard from so much stress here. This is my senior year, i jusst moved here and it shouldnt be like this. There was no comfort welcome at all. I pray i get my transfer to ballard. I highly suggest that school if you are into arts and music. Its very clean and in a great plain woods environment and the staff made me feel so welcome that i broke out in tears."
"This school took changes by storm the glory days of Shawnee hailed from being one of the Best Schools before DuPont Manual to being one of the worst next to Iroquois High School to being a median between the two. I am currently enrolled as ASB PTSA/Board of Education Representative, I believe if the 4th floor was to be opened education and enrollment opportunities could double towards the success of the school."
"Could not ask for a better high school experience for my son. Teachers and staff are amazing! The aerospace and aviation programs are second to none. The small school allows him opportunities to have hands on experience with high tech learning, leadership and individualized attention. Forget all the rumors and let go of your preconceived notions. Come down and see for yourself! You'll be glad you did."
"Treats your Children like prison inmates. I pray everyday for Charter Schools to take over!! Look at this Jefferson County school Building ( With mostly African America students) then check out Jeffersontown High School (Jefferson County school Building that serves A mostly White students) , then tell If Something does not need to be changed.TAX money from the same JCPS POOL."
